what can help break up horrible yucky chest congestion???

Ok, go to a drug store....and get something with an expectorant in it. Look on the bottles of cough syrup, and look up the active ingredients...it should say guaifenesin....that's the expectorant. Take the medicine as the label says....and make sure you drink lots of liquids, that's what makes it work. When you do cough, it'll bring that stuff up....and that's what you want. Don't swallow what you cough up either, spit it out. If you start running fever, or your symptoms get worse, then make sure you go see a doctor. Best of luck to you.

Is this for you ? If yes you can try OTC "cold and flu" medications,and add some humidity to your sleeping area,using a "cool mist " vaporizer. You can also use a pot or tea kettle on the stove to add some humidity,be careful not to leave the stove on etc.If you're not better soon, you may want to see your MD in case there is a "bronchitis" or other problems.
