way since he had one of his wisdom teeth pulled. We went and let the dentist check it out but they said they cannot find anything wrong with his tooth or the hole where it came out(how ever it is still healing very slowly) I am just wondering if it is possible to thave mono for 3 months or more and if there is anything the doctor can do other than a blood test to confirm he has it. I am 10 weeks pregnant and I just have morning sickness-should I be worried about gettting mono from him? thanks

My mother has been diagnosed with chronic airways disease but has never smoked or been around much smoking. She had bronchitis in December and still has a dry cough occasionally which sometimes causes her to wheeze for a few minutes. Is chronic airways disease related to bronchitis. Does it have the same symptoms and will it go away in time?

I have heard that a lot of people are suffering with this. It is like you arer bunged up with a proper cold, with sore throat, coughs etc, then it goes only to find a few days later, it is back , and sometimes one can wake up either in the middle of trhe night or first thing in the morning all bunged up again

when he was first born he made a noise breathing but the doctor said it was mucas.when he was 3 weeks old he was hospitalised with bronchiolitis which was pretty severe. He left hospital with atrovent and salbutamol inhalers which they said he would need to use for about the next 3 weeks.Anyway he reacted badly to salbutamol and was taken off it but has continued to need the atrovent ever since. He makes a constent noise all the time when breathing and has days when he wheezes morning to night.I cant let him cry for any amount of time cos he wheezes and coughs till he,s purple and when he first wakes up in the morning he,ll cough until his chests clears. If you place your hand on his back you can feel how bad his chest is.I have lost count of the number of doctors and paediatritians we,ve seen and have been told everything from its just taking time to get over the bronchilitis to he,s a happy wheezer!!!!! and even that he may need to be tested for cystic fibrosis ,any advice please

this was a while ago and she has since given up smoking, she had to go for another spirometry test yesterday and she was pleased that it appeared normal, how is this because emphysema is not reversable and if it is reading normal then how can she still have it. She only gave up smoking 18 days ago so surely things will just carry on to improve wont they?

I quit smoking about a month ago. I visited my parents over night for the first time since quitting. My mom knows I was a smoker and I've told her that I quit. My mom hates smoking and whenever I visit I have made every effort to not smell like cigarettes by washing my hair, coat and clothes. I would not smoke while visiting and would not even bring cigarettes onto her property. My mom claims when I left after the visit, she went to wash the sheets of the bed I slept in and she had what she described as an "asthma attack" and it smelled like cigarettes. She felt like her airways were closing up and she could not breathe. (My mom has not been diagnosed with asthma, but does suffer from seasonal allergies.) I guess I want to know if what she experienced is even medically possible. There is the possibility that there were traces of cigarette smell on my things to which she was sensitive. But what she described, sounded more severe than anything trace smells could have. Please help!

I'm always running and I'm an on again, off again smoker. I quit smoking for about six months but I've recently binged on the Newports again. Since I quit I've been able to run without fatigue better (duh!). But I was wondering if there is an exact scientific statistic on how long it takes for your lungs to recover, or if it varies by person. I'm pretty active, I run five days a week for four or five miles a shot. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
