You start out with a cold, leading to a persistent cough, you start to feel tired and your cough becomes more persistent. These symptoms build up over several weeks. The cough will now be painful, especially in your mid-back. Bronchitis is one step from having pneumonia. Better go to the doctor tomorrow, you need to have your lungs sounded and probably a chest x-ray. Bed rest, an antibiotic and plenty of rest, is the cure! I hope you only have a bad cold... go see a doctor...

i remember, when i had bronchitis as a child, i gasped for air in the middle of the night until i can hardly breathe. sometimes i cough up plenty mucus. and i have flues. i had difficulty breathing, sometimes, i got so tired i nearly collapsed. plus my chest aches.

it only stopped when i got a tube down my bronchus to suck out the mucus and i went for therapy too.

If, when you cough, it feels like someone stuck a knife in your chest, you have it.

Good luck!
