Take this from someone with COPD...Stop smoking now if you just found out about it..You can extend your life.
But as hard as it is to say knowing oneday this will happen to me...Yes you can and will die from COPD because your lungs will eventually collapse.

Yes you die from COPD. When it gets really bad as the years wear on you will have what is called end stage COPD and you do eventually die. Often times something else kills you first but in the end yes you die from COPD.

Yes. My father died from this just 16 months after being diagnosed with it. And it was emphysema from smoking. Emphysema is a type of COPD.

The acronym" COPD " stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease .That includes diseases like asthma,bronchitis,emphysema,and others. It will take a while to die from them,usually after suffering for several years etc.They can however be controlled with medications,eventually medications stop working and the lungs will fail.
