Hi Renee

Here are some ideas to use to heal the condition.

Treat Both Ears: The simple, old-fashioned aids are sometimes very fast in giving relief. Always treat both ears, even if only one aches.

1.Garlic: When my little girl had an earache I put a piece of fresh garlic in her ear and it was better by morning. The previous alternative was to go to the doctor and pay a lot of money for penicillin.

2. Onion: Lightly bake a large onion, cut it in half and while warm (not hot enough to irritate the area), bind one half of the onion over each ear. Bandage in place and hold bandage on with a nightcap, white skullcap, etc., and leave on all night.

3.Camomile: Use a fomentation over both ears of three parts of camomile and one part of lobelia. Take two ounces orally (a wineglass full) each two waking hours. Leave the fomentation on the ears all night. (Cover fomentation with plastic or oiled silk, etc.).

4. Mullein: Use three to six drops of mullein oil in both ears several times each day. Insert it upon retiring for the night, and, as before, plug the ears with cotton. Place a fomentation over the ears all night of three parts mullein and one part lobelia.

Best of health to you

An earache is a symptom, not something that causes more things to happen. If the underling cause of an earache is an infection in the middle ear, untreated you could end up have a perforated ear drum. The earache might cause changes in behavior and difficulty concentrating just like any other pain you would experience.

Inner or outer?

If its the inner ear, its likely caused by pressure differences. Like plane rides or scuba diving. Had you been doing those activities?
Uhmmm some parasites/ bacteria may cause the symptons but its unlikely.

Outer ear pains, did u bruise yourself or maybe have a infection somewhere. Piercings may cause those through infection.

Go consult a doctor if it doesn't go away. But preliminary, doctors usually gives pain killers.

dirty water is one main cause. I dated a woman once who lived in the country. She told me here father would use the bath water, followed by her mother and then her ..without changing the first load of water. She got ear aches bad. You can also get them from swimming in polluted rivers because people will relieve themselves in it on vacation.
