I'm not sure if your terms are mixed up. Perhaps you are looking for a humidifier?

A vaporizer would be a device that turns a solid into a gas. In most cases, used for turning marijuana into a gaseous form for inhalation... usually by heating.

A nebulizer would be a device to turn liquid medication into an inhalant (vapor) by smashing (and in some cases vibrating) the liquid medication at high velocity into particles fine enough to reach small airways.

So, not quite the same.

If we're talking about "humidifiers" perhaps you're looking at providing moisture to your son. I'll leave a link for "humidifier" through Wikipedia for you to look at. If you want to provide moisture to facilitate productive cough, the humidifier is probably the way to go.

Good luck.
