Narcosis as defined by Taber's Cuclopedic medical Dictionary- is the state of being in as unconscious state due to narcotics. However, I have learned via my medical training the elevated CO2 or Carbon dioxide levels can also act as a sedative. Persons with COPD and various other lung diseases may be prone to this. There is also oxygen nacosis which is much to complicated to explain here. Go to webmd.com or cdc.com for the basic versions. If your concerned about your gerenal health call your MD and make an appointment.
