My friend has been complaining that her stomach hurts really bad. It feels "hard", and everytime she eats she feels like "the food is squeezing it's way through really hard". She said something before about "her intestines shrinking" and something about it being a chronic disease. I don't think she's telling me everything because she'll know I'll cry! She can't even go to the doctor's office until January! Please help =(

It's really painful...and has not gone away....I can only eat bland foods or im in terrible pain. Could it be my liver?? my mother has been ill for quite a while with heart problems, hip and back problems, in the last two years she has become immobile and suffered many falls, the last fall has seen her in hosptial where she has become totally confused and makes no sense at all, she has also become mobile again to some extent with little or no pain which she has suffered from for years due to her back and hip. she has no infection and the dr's are looking at brain scans, but this is all so sudden, can anyone give me an idea what is going on.

In July I was diagnosed w/kidney stones. Woke up in middle of night w/worse pain ever..etc. CT scan showed 1 stone in right many in left kidney. Said they were small enough to pass.. Ok. Here we are 4 months later.. I dont think I have passed anything the severe pain died down but now seems to be returning. Over the past couple days I have this constant ache in my back and gotta go to bathroom feels like all the time.. How long will it take these things to pass and can you pass them and not know?? I think I would know I have heard it really hurts coming out. And yes I drink a ton of water every day.. so much so I feel bloated!!!

I can't believe it. I've barely had my 22 year old birthday and there's a visible balding patch near the crown of my head. I've been using Rogaine for the past 6 months and there hasn't been any significant result (except for some slight slowing of hairfall).

I feel really horrible and I always have this scenario pictured in my head, that by 25 I would look like Donald Trump... (which doesn't really look bad, just not something I hope to look like).

Any other suggestions/solutions to hair loss?

Someone told me that leprosy can be caused through eating pork and from there it passes down, being inherented.
Any truth in that? And why is it not contagious?

My brother has been having gallstone attacks for the past 3 days. He took the sonography test 3 times now. The first showed several small stones but the second and third showed nothing. Meanwhile, he is sitll in so much pain. I don't get what's going on. How is this possible? And what explains his pain?

I've been hearing a lot of Thyrolar as a safer alternative for Synthroid. I've been having a lot of problems with hair falling out while using Synthroid and I'm only 20 years old. It's bad enough I have a thyroid issue, I don't need to be bald this early in my life. Has anyone else with Hypoactive Thyroidism found a better solution for treatment? What has worked best for you?

any ideas? i get severe head aches, had an MRI done 6-7 months ago, and a biopsy behind the protuding eye. its not cancer they say, but it has caused my eye to protrude about 3mm from the other and the whole side of my head/face to also push out. took prendisone for 5 months with no change, have lost vision and color vision too. not total vision loss, just about double the other eye (from 20/20 to 20/40+) looking at the MRI you can definately see a large mass in my head, pushing my brain out of the way, and my face out. the doc.s don't say much, but shrug and its not cancer. I do have graves disease, but they do not think it is the notorious "graves" eyes, becuase of that lovely growth in my head. the head aches are getting real bad again, and i swear it affects my memory and thinking sometimes. could just be the pain, i don't know. any thoughts out there? otherwise i am healthy, never get sick or have colds, lately alot of muscle ache, could just be my age though? i am 46 yrs.

My little brother is bleeding when he has a bowel movement, he can't keep food down, and when you press down on a certain spot on his stomach, he says it hurts badly. Could he have a stomach ulcer? He is going to the doctor tomorrow, but I want to make sure he doesn't need to go to the ER tonight. Thanks in advance.

I just had a surgery on friday and they prescribed me with doxycycline...it is giving me really bad growling and the worst heartburn! I have been waking up at 3 am for the past two nights and not sleeping any longer and then i have to take another one at 9 am... by this time i am exhausted. I am having breathing problems, very rapid heartbeat and like i said really bad heartburn.I can't take anti-acids for a few hours after. I plan to go to the doctor tomorrow and see if theres a different antibiotic they can prescribe me. I didn't take any today and I just need reassurance that I am doing the right thing and that I choose the better solution, NOT to take the doxycycline for today. I'll be okay for the next 24 hours without antibiotics, right?

I appreciate any advice you can give m

Long term antibiotics for kidney infections?
I had a 5mm kidney stone back in May, I had alot of problems with it, the stone went but I had a infection were the stone had been inside me for so long. I was put on different antibiotics I was home for about a 8 weeks, I was told to rotate the antibiotics cause I was having problems shifting the infection. I am still having pain in the kidney area, it feels like a slight burning sensation, I am scared cause I do not want the pain to get worse, cause I know how bad it can be, I am still taking the antibiotics, they seem to work for a few days but by the time I have finished them, I am in pain again. I have been to see a doctor and he said it can take a while to completely get rid of a kidney infection. Is he right is this normal? What I want to know is, can it take a few months for the infection to clear up, and could the antibiotics be harming my kidneys, because I have taken so many? Does anyone have any answers for me, thank you.
