I'm supposed to stay off my feet for 3 weeks (medical reasons) and I'm kinda stuck in my humble abode unless I want to go out with a walker which is hard cuz I keep tripping on it on the sidewalk! It's just not worth leaving by myself....What could I do all day aside from sitting at this computer?!?!? I was thinking about making cookies....the ones with all the ingred's in a pouch and all you do is add butter and an egg.....I'm just not up to doing much at all (depressed about this whole medical crap) so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....I don't like to read, don't know how to knit, crochet, etc...no real hobbies....I do like listening to music though, so I sit here at the computer and crank the speakers but i can't just sit here all day either.....suggestions? Legit ones please.....Thanks!

I have had 2 joint replacements due to AVN (a disease that causes bone to die and the joint to collapse). Now I'm having the same thing in a new joint (hip). The MRI showed " mild femoral head collapse." My GP said that there was no collapse and no fracture...well, there isn't a fracture (yet) but there is partial collapse. He said to stay off my feet for 3 weeks and in 1 week we will get xrays and 2 weeks after that, another set of xrays.

Question: Has anyone dealt with this? I trust my GP TOTALLY and he spent a LOT of time on me over the past 2 yrs and is only going by what the Ortho and MRI doc said. I told him about it saying there was a partial collapse and he was PISSED cuz that's not what he was told.

In any case I have this dam*ed AVN again and I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of support on this....support groups are filled with hundreds of people and I can't deal with that. What to do???? Thanks for any advice/sympathy you may have. I'm just scared.

About 8 months ago I started getting pains in my joints and muscles. I went to the doctor and she sent me for blood tests which came back clean. She seemed to believe that I have Fibromyalgia and prescribed me Amitriptyline. I started taking it but had bad nightmares and felt generally aweful. So I figured I would stop taking it. I managed for a couple of months although I was still in pain. Then a couple of weeks ago I started getting bad panic attacks. Again I went to the doctor ( a different one this time as the previous doctor wasn't in). He seems to think I have depression. However my mom had depression and I don't feel that I have it. Anyway he prescribed me Citalopram to help with the panic attacks, which it has. However since taking the drug I am really forgetful and just feel really out of it but if I skip taking it at all I feel panicy again.
Sick of normal doctors, I went to a Accupressurist. He seems to think I have something wrong with my Endocrine System.

and if so, what side effects can be expected. He has effectively quit drinking for months in the past, so seizures and withdrawals are not expected. What can I expect as his wife?

orthodox-say you have flu, they give you painkillers or antibiotics, everybody gets the same thing, which doesnt cure the problem, just cover it up,and make you worse long term.

alternative, say you have flu,and are getting treated with homeopathy, then a remedy will be found specifically for your symptoms.and you will be treated as a whole.everything is taken into account, from diet to dreams.

what would you prefer?

ok so in my late teens for about 4 years i was drinking heavily
every day , and i have no yellowing of the skin and i did a blood
test last year and the liver and all my organs in the blood are functioning normal , also 2 years ago i had a ultrasound of the
stomach and liver and it seemed ok , so are those tests assuring
to me that my liver is fine and also i have cut down my alcohol intake to just weekends , like friday and saturday drinking.

Exactly what causes the liver of a heavy alcohol drinker to diminish in its capacity to metabolize alcohol over a lifetime of drinking?

The meds I have been taking for years has not changed and I went through a surgical menopause years ago. I have had a previous positive TB test but have never developed any symptoms. I'm just not finding anything to read on regarding this other than menopause. I'm at my wit's end. It's not as profuse as 'classic' nightsweats and it occurs at all hours, round the clock. Sweat for about five minutes then I am fine a couple times an hour. Anyone have a clue????

It was a patient of Dr.House. It was a teenage girl that can't feel anything; pain, touch, warmth. But yea.. if you remember that, does anyone know the medical/scientific word for that condition.

Please only answer if really sure and read question carefully, there might be little words or word swaps in there that make the statement false. This is really important to me. THANKS!
