What do someone's eyes look like after retinal detatchment?

the appearance doesn't change outwardly, but retinal detachment will make a person blind and is excrutiatingly painful.

they look normal in outer view ,but he complains of floaters.flashes of light and decreased visual field mostly peripherally and photophobia
