eg. Friend's Granny - nitrazepam stopped. Spent 2 years on anti-hypertensive drugs (4 different) feeling dreadful. Now sleeping badly, but scared to visit GP as not willing to take more BP drugs. Just hopes if she has a heart attack or stroke it's a big one!
eg. Tramadol, given for severe headaches following neurosurgery years ago - quantity now reduced. Also refusing anti-hypertensives. Just had mastectomy. Scared of inadequate pain relief.
Neither is suicidal. Both drugs ? addictive, but for someone over 70 & under medical supervision does it matter?
Neighbour just died - massive stroke. Last few years miserable - anti-hypertensives again. Was it worth it?
It's like medicines by rote. don't these people count as individuals?

I had a TSH blood test in OCtober and just now found out the results. My endocrhinologist told me to start takign the sample medicine she sent with me. She gave me this BEFORE she got the results of the TSC, and told me she'd let me know if I should take it. She gave it to me becasue she thought It likely I had hypothyroidism.

Anyway, I've started taking it, but I'm concerned... I found out it is almost the lowest dose this company manufactures.. only 75 mcg (synthroid). I don't have another appointment with her until January.. Shouldn't we try to find out if this dose is high enough??.. I have struggled with my weight for years, and I am hoping that I have found an answer (and some help with weight control)..

Should I reccomend a re-test in a few weeks to see how it's affecting my thyroid levels?? Because.. maybe this dose wont be high enough.. I really wouldn't want to wait till Feb (my appoitment is Jan 30) to find out that I need a stronger dose!!

Is there reduced function? Other than appearing abnormal, is there any other disability to having additional digits? The thing that is really bugging me is this: can someone with additional fingers actually use it to play the piano? that would advantageous and amazing if you can have 11 or 12 fingers on the piano.

I woke yesterday morning to find a lump in my scrotum. It hurts bad, and it's bright red. Today I woke up to find a smaller, hard lump on the other side. What are the chances I have cancer? Should I be worried? (I'm in my early 20's)

Does anyone know if the symptoms of nacrolepsy can be from anything else, like, lack of sleep? I get frequent sleep paralysis, hallucinations(every once in a while since I was 18--now 25) and extreme tiredness. But Ive been sleeping like 3 hours a night for the past couple of weeks, and I take long naps during the day. I have a sleep study in a month, but im still worried.

I had blood work done about 2 months ago. Doctor told me liver was normal & so was everything else he checked for too (thyroid etc.) but I still get frequent symptoms of headaches, feeling lethargic & nausea. I told him about the headaches and he suggested I try a night mouth gaurd to see if that helps get rid of them. I tried one of the store kinds that you heat in boiling water for a minute or 2 then mold it to fit one's mouth but it didn't work, I still get the frequent headaches, have a bad headache right now :( and I still get the fatigue and nausea too. I noticed these symptoms all started when my digestive issues started and at the same time I was having gallbladder issues. I didn't know it, but at the time I started to get all my symptoms my gallbladder had become blocked with gallstones & was causing severe sharp pains frequently esp after eating fried foods. My gb was removed but I still get the headaches, lethargy & nausea. Could these be due to having a liver problem?

I have been trying to see my GP but can never get an appointment or even pre-book one. I have been on cipralex and istin and developed severe joint pain. (Almost unable to walk) I suspected one on my drugs and have been fazing them out. The joint pains are 99% gone but I feel sick and giddy all the time. Which tablet do I need to continue that will not cause the crippling joint pains?? Thank you for your help.

I have a middle ear infection and a burst eardrum. There's a buzzing noise in my ear the whole time. Is that caused by the ear infection or the burst eardrum? If the noise isn't going away, does that mean the infection isn't clearing up?

My mom is dieing in front of my eyes and I can't just sit by and watch. Please help anyone. Her medical condition is getting out of hand.

She has immense chest pains every other day and often holds her chest even when walking when she is considered "well." She went to the hospital in an ambulance last week, and now I wonder if she is gonna make it.

Today.. she told me she thinks she is gonna die. I can't deal with being a teenager without a mom.

Anyone idea on what the disease, cancer, or etc... is will be greatly appreciated. The doctors still don't know what it is.

Also any ideas on how to alleviate the pain? Maybe aspirin?
