My daugther is coughing and sneezing and has a really runny nose. We took her to the peditrician and he says there's nothing we can give her. Can someone recommend something natural that will help her.

I don't normally take her to the doctor for just a cold. However, I took her to the drs because she had been running a fever and they asked that I bring her in.

I would suggest that an herbal remedy might help. Green and Black Tea helps wonders when I get a cold. Since she's a 4 yr old go decaff. Also try Vicks. That seems to help as well. Try orange juice. The vitamins in it also help.

Use honey in the amount you would cough syrup but thin it with hot aka warm water to cough syrup consistency. Give her hard candy to suck on too or a sucker. As for the runny nose I would use vicks vapo rub under her nose to help. I am not sure why you took your daughter to the doc for a simple cold but next time if it is a cold you should refrain from taking her to the doc and exposing everyone to her cold germs because as your found out "there is nothing they can do for her". If she is achy use pain reliever but do not try to lower a temp unless it is real high as that is your body's way of fighting off what is wrong with you.

THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT A STANDARD COLD IS MOST OFTEN CAUSED BY A RHINOVIRUS, AGAINST WHICH THERE IS NO "CURE."
FOR THE SORE THROAT SOME WARM HERBAL TEA WITH HONEY WILL SOOTHE THE SYMPTOM.
