"Thick" blood is called hypercoagubility. It can be caused by an abnormality in the clotting process, by viruses, toxins, stress, fungus, parasites, trauma, dehydration and uncontrolled diabetes.

There is no such thing as thicker blood. Unless you are referring to more red blood cells in the system that may cause problems such as stroke...
