It happens about every other month, it's an annoying feeling, like I always need to urinate. It's almost like a constant pressure down in the area, but when I attempt to go to the bathroom, only dribbles come out. But it feels like I always am holding in a really big urination. What is it? Is it a bladder infection? Or could it be something else?

I have been preparing for my annual exam and saw that it's been 11 years since I had a tetanus shot. I asked the doc if I should get a booster and she said that the are only given when you get a cut and an infection. Huh? I was going by guidelines from the CDC and FDA which say you should have one every ten years.

I was having bad problems; lost home and car. Company knew I was an alcoholic but with all my problems going on I had started using drugs. Some doctor prescribed. My boss knew I wanted help but company was shorthanded and my insurance was changing the first of the year. I had a car wreck and was out a few days. When I came back they said they had a company drug test call. I told my boss that I couldn't pass it. Assumed I would be fired. He called his boss and never really told me anything different. I started packing, (I had been there almost 10 years, current company allmost 7 so I had lots of stuff. He helped me load it up in the rain. Told him I would come back and get rest because it was raining but he continued to put stuff in the truck. He called me later that day to see how I wanted it listed, terminated or quit. I told him I didn't quit. There are a lot of other things too. Sexual harrassment and dealing with different superentendents. Said I quit to unemp. off

I have blepharitis mainly in one eye. I know that this is a result of having alot of indoor allergies (Which means i have allergies year round). My eyelids are ALWAYS red and this blepharitis never goes away. Ive had it for so long now that i don't know what if feels like to be without it. I have already tried cleaning it with one of those cotton sticks. I have done this for about 2 weeks and no results. What should i try to pursuit now to get this blepharitis down? And am I always going to have this, cause I've had it for so long and it doesn't go away? Also why do i have blepharitis mainly in one eye instead of the other?

My mom is going in for knee replacement surgery tomorrow 3/6/07. Is there really anything that can go horribly wrong with this?? I wasn't all TOO worried.....but now that it is tomorrow my mind is playing tricks on me.

Also...mainly.....I'd like to send flowers (I'm out of state 2000 miles away). Can I do this, is there a infection problem, like when you are not able to send to ICU.....? Does the patient go to ICU....or just a theraputic room.....I really don't know much, and I don't want to alert my mom and worry her by asking too many questions.
Any other suggestions on something I could send.....besides magazines, crossword puzzles and books....she is bringing all that in with her.

Thanks!
Katie

I had a neurologist who made sure the prescription was for dilantin. It cost more than the generic but he felt it was better. Now I'm beginning to take it again, only under a different doctor, and she ordered phenytoin. So I'm curious if there is a comparison between the two drugs. Are they the same or is there a reason to chose one over the other? thanks.

last Thursday I went to the doctor and they told me I had a cold and a sinus infection. I had chills, body aches, headache, no fever, and my glands hurt on the back of my head and neck. They gave me strong anitbiotics and that was that. I felt better Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday though, my back started aching again, and Saturday night, the back of my head where the glands are started hurting-they're not anymore though. And now, my whole body kinda aches a little and my head hurts. Is it possible for the symptoms of a cold to disappear and then come back, or do you think it's something else. Please help. Spring break is next week and I don't want to be sick again.

Does anyone know why I would see tiny sparkly lights in my vision? I see them 24/7 - all the time - day/night. It's like looking through little television fuzzy lights but it doesn't effect what I see - except that there are lights around and on top of everything. It's hard to explain. I have been tested at the Royal Alex Eye clinic in Edmonton and the doctors could not find a reason for them. I do get frequent headaches, not severe but one or two a week. I'm in good health other than that. I've seen them for the past 15 - 20 years. I see the lights everywhere although they are more concentrated around people and lights and things that are hot. I do not believe in auras or that they are somehow spiritual. The lights do not effect my vision, I do wear glasses for nearsightedness. Sometimes at night it is more difficult to see the stars because I already see many stars but I can still see them almost as clearly as other people.

Any ideas? Answer would be greatly appreciated.

Just today out of nowhere, I began suffering from awful knee pain. It is located just above the patella (kneecap) to the left a little bit, on my right knee. I have Osgood-Schlotters in both knees, and I'm still in the midst of that, but this pain is different. However for the first time in about 5 months I played a full 90 minute soccer game, with just the usual pain, but now, the day afterwards, I have this awful pain. Could I have torn something from being out of shape? The pain is so bad I can hardly walk, and I need assistance going up stairs.

And if this is any help at all, I'm 15, so it's not arthritis or osteoporosis of the bones.

I went to the emergency room on Friday and they told me that the third ventrical in my brain is enlarged. (It is not a tumur) They want me to see a neorologist.
Has there been anyone that has been through this? If you have been through this what was the solution to the problem? Thank you in advance.

Ok - I have a neurological disorder and have had a lot of constipation in the past. I'm currently on meds and doing MUCH better but sometimes still have a bit of blood with stool and stool is longer and narrower than normal. I have an appointment in May. Do you think this is cause for concern - blood was seen when I had constipation and maybe I just have a fissure that bleeds sometimes - I don't know - but now the shape is different too.

Couple months back I went through my clinical rotation for my Phlebotomy program and saw some rather questionable activities. I got in touch with a couple different groups and ended up getting a couple Phlebotomists fired due to unsafe practices.

I am working for the hospital were this occured- no one knows I did it, but I feel guilty, because now everyone is mad at the person that altered their practices.

Should I feel bad? I mean, I did this for the health and safety of others, is in doing that I think I did right, but these people lost their jobs.

At Mayo Clinic, you can show up and say "I'm not leaving until you find something wrong with me" and they will run tests to figure it out. My local hospital is not like that at all...
Is Mayo Clinic the only facility out there of its kind?
