So for the last week and a half I have had this strange knot in my throat. Much like when you feel lik crying but you are holding back. I recall feeling this once before when I was under extreme stress and anxiety. I don't feel that stressed out now but could I be and just not recognizing it? I am a singer, and since this has happened, I haven't been singing because it is uncomfortable. I'm able to drink, breathe, eat, swallow and no discomfort but most of the time I feel like I have this constant knot in my throat. Is this a normal response to stress? Has anyone else every experienced this and when will it stop?

This is bizarre.

I have a small pea-shaped nodule/bump under my skin near my jaw on the left side of my mouth. It's like outside the bone. I can actually feel it on the outside of my skin and move it around.

It's quite small and not irritating, it's just weird. I just felt it the other day and don't even know what kind of doctor to go see.

I am assuming it might be some sort of calcium deposit, but it's mobile. HELP!!!
Thanks.

My 3 yr old son has had a small lump on his spine since i can remember, im not even sure its a lump, it looks more like one of his vertabrae sticks out further than the others, its not painful to him. Its about 3/4 of the way down his back, i had a dr look at it about a yr ago and they didnt really pay it much attention, said he was fine. No Xrays or anything done...but now it seems to be getting more noticable, im not stupid, i plan to take him to his dr, im just trying to see if any other parents or medical professionals have seen anything like this and have any ideas as to if its normal or not, and if not what it could be...thanks

he had a really bad cold virus that affected his throat pretty bad, it wasn't strep, but he lost his voice for a couple of weeks and his lymph glands are still swollen (left more than right), he hasn't had any fevers for at least 3 weeks, but his voice still doesn't sound quite the same...I don't know if the two have anything to do with eachother, but a couple of days ago he got a very bad bloody nose (left side again)...can these two things have anything to do w/ eachother? I am finally going to be able to have him seen by a doc on Thursday...can these be symptoms of something serious, and should I ask any specific questions about these things? Serious answers only, and before people start saying I should have had him seen a long time ago...we are on a military base in a foreign country and they weren't seeing any patients until now...any suggestions/advice would be great! Thanks!!!

This is typically seen in children with low muscle tone, or with Down Syndrome.

I get about 7 1/2 to as least 9 hours of sleep every night and I still have dark circles under my eyes. I don't take any kind of medicine and I fell 100 % normal. But there are still circles under my eyes they aren't so bad but if you look at me about a foot away it looks like I have lost some sleep. It’s been this way for a while and I don't know if there is something wrong with me, I guess I could be over reacting but it’s kind of scaring me

Is this common? I have read that iodine rich foods can help but I'm allergic to iodine. Can this be a cause for getting hypothyroidism?

I often pass out when its hot, I'm nervous, or I see blood. (I've seen a doctor, it's not a serious medical issue so don't just tell me "see your doctor")

anyways, if I know I will have to be standing upright in the heat for a long period of time (like marching band), or will be seeing a disturbing picture/video, what can I do to prevent myself from fainting?

(also, I tend to.. twitch sort of when I faint. If I have to pass out, what can I do to stop the twitching?)

My grandmother is in the ICU at our hospital in town. She has been there for about 5 days with no improvement and infact is being put back onto machines she was taken off of because her condition slipped.

I would like to visit, but I am starting to get a cold.
Would they permit me to wear a mask and stay a short time.

I've been told by other family members that she doesn't know when anyone is in the room, so if a mask is an "iffy" solution, the I wouldn't want to risk her health slipping, but what are general hospital guidelines?

I got really sick about 3 weeks ago. I had severe coughing, fever nausea, weakness, aches and chest pain when I breathed. That lasted a couple of days. Imediately following I got a sharp pain in my flank of my back that really hurts when I lay down, cough, yawn ect. I feel better when I stand. What the heck is wrong with me?

I had pneumonia last year (exactly last march) and now I'm getting the same symptoms, but I feel I'm getting better. So hopefully I'll get better soon and I'm hoping it's nothing complicated --just a flu or something. I wanna go to school tomorrow, what is the best thing I can do to get better? I'm drinking lots of fluids, eating well to gain back energy, resting, I'm taking my medicine every 4 hours. Is there anything else that will make me better really fast to wake up tomorrow feeling fine?
