I often pass out when its hot, I'm nervous, or I see blood. (I've seen a doctor, it's not a serious medical issue so don't just tell me "see your doctor")

anyways, if I know I will have to be standing upright in the heat for a long period of time (like marching band), or will be seeing a disturbing picture/video, what can I do to prevent myself from fainting?

(also, I tend to.. twitch sort of when I faint. If I have to pass out, what can I do to stop the twitching?)

i agree with tom, cool and woolly.....the only problem is you don't want to drink a boatload of water, while you're performing with the marching band.....if you can take sips of water, that would be great....and also, underneath the hats, you could put a cool rag on top of your head, hidden from everyone else....there are also those cool packs you can get at the sports stores.....i doooo understand, the heat just gets me too!!

There's nothing you can do to prevent the twitching tho.....but if you keep yourself cooled off, maybe you won't pass out.

I tend to feel dizzy when I see blood too. I always drink water though and helps me a lot. But also try having your head between your knees facing the ground.

wear some old glasses that are out of focus or put fuzzy tape over the lenses. That way you'll just see fuzzy colours and shapes. Or you can look at it from an angle... dont look at it directly !

Your doctor needs to go back to school! It is a serious condition. If you fall and crack your head open, or if it happens when driving, swimming etc.. that's not a 'serious' condition? See a better doctor or if it's psychological, then a shrink.
