Pain in the kidneys could indicate an infection, a blockage or kidney stones to mention only a few things. You need to be seen by a doctor to determine the cause instead of drinking extra water and hoping for the best. The longer you wait, the greater the chances permanent harm could result.

drink lots and lots of water, cut out milk or any dairy, and drink more water, then try some cranberry juice.

You should like you have a Urinary Tract Infection. It can be kicked out of your body by antibiotics and drinking alot of water and cranberry juice to purge your system.

OR you could have a more serious problem of kidney stones. They are usually caused by a build up of calcium in the kidneys. Keep away from dairy as much as you can and drink more water. it will pass eventually.

Make sure to go to the doctor!

You cant tell if your kidneys hurt by feeling the outside. You would be able to tell from your urination process.
Yes water works. It flushes out toxins and keeps the body hydrated.(operating at maximum efficency)
Cranberry juice helps also by keeping the urine acidic. And your kidneys function better when excreting acidic urine
