I was having bad problems; lost home and car. Company knew I was an alcoholic but with all my problems going on I had started using drugs. Some doctor prescribed. My boss knew I wanted help but company was shorthanded and my insurance was changing the first of the year. I had a car wreck and was out a few days. When I came back they said they had a company drug test call. I told my boss that I couldn't pass it. Assumed I would be fired. He called his boss and never really told me anything different. I started packing, (I had been there almost 10 years, current company allmost 7 so I had lots of stuff. He helped me load it up in the rain. Told him I would come back and get rest because it was raining but he continued to put stuff in the truck. He called me later that day to see how I wanted it listed, terminated or quit. I told him I didn't quit. There are a lot of other things too. Sexual harrassment and dealing with different superentendents. Said I quit to unemp. off

Well, since you basically refused to take the drug test they don't HAVE to offer you unemployment. You need to get a handle on your personal problems. If you have not already filed some sort of papers for the harrassment before the "Termination", it will look like you are just making these things up.

Only fault here is your drinking and problem with it at that!!! I know too many alcoholics and it ruins their lives!!! The drug test don't screen for doctor pills perscribed they look for meth, cocaine, pot and so on!!! So if you were worried then you might have been using one of those harder drugs out there!!! You have to look at something here, you started packing your things so that says you quit!!! You have to have proof of sexual harrassment or sorry it ain't happening!!! I have been let go before and the place fought the unemployment and there was nothing I could do!!! I say that you need to get off that drinking crap cause drugs and alcohol lowers the mantality of a person!!! Not saying you are dumb, but I am saying it impairs ANYONES judgement!! I got away from all the people I used to hang out with and they are still doing the stuff and I see how they have poor judgement of all they do!!! It will only benifit you Honey!!!

Actually, if you fail a drug test and admit that you need help, the company is usually required to help with drug/alcohol treatment, but you have to take and fail the test.

If you fail because of a prescribed drug, all you have to do is bring your prescription with you and show them that it is prescribed to you by a physician.

I would definitely call the EEOC and ask them about filing a claim if you did, in fact, take the test..

The EEO part of this is that you've had an equal opportunity as anyone else in your situation to figure out how to keep a happy face and you'd didn't pull out of it. You kept having mishap after mishap, which implies that you use your mishaps to get extra attention. If this is so, you shouldn't blame the company, because they can only carry you so long.
If you quit, you quit. Now, take it like a man and go out and get another job. Or, do you still live with mommy and maybe get her to pay your bills?

If the drugs were prescribed by a doctor you don't need to worry about the drug test. You quit voluntarily, and don't qualify for unemployment.

it seems like you left voluntarily.

Work on getting sober and straight. That is your priority right now.
