i know im pretty much digging my own grave: smoke 2 packs a day, never exercise, eat tons of meat (cnt remember last time i had a vegtable) get drunk every night and heart disease is very common in my family. personally i dont care if i die from it i wont stop doing what i want just to add a few years to my life i was just wondering cus a few times in the past i had strong chest pains on the left side of my chest, i didnt get that 'pain shooting down my arm' thing people talk about, but i dont know what it was that was causing the pain, i was just curious because of where the pain was (the heart is on the left side, right?) but i was just curious is it posible to have a heart attack and still be able to finish the work day/ or whatever else i was doing? i dont have health insurance so im not about to go to the hospital and drop a grand to have them tell me nothings wrong, so thats why im asking u guys lol. thanks for your time and have a great day!

For about 10 years I've had this painless semi firm bump on my neck, people just told me it was a swollen lymph node and nothing to worry about. This past week for the first time ever it feels very sore. Is this something I should worry about?

every time that i have gone to the doctor, they have pricked my finger and they always tell me that my "iron" - hemoglobin - levels are too low.. usually like a 8 or 9.

just recently, i went to an appointment, and the levels were 8.6

my mother was with me and she freaked out. she is a RN and she has worked on the oncology floor for the past 20 years and she is convinced that something MAJOR is wrong with me.

i do not nave insurance...who do i go to for testing to see if i am anemic or if i have something seriously wrong with me like cancer?

if i do not have anything like cancer...what would cause my levels to be so low??

i am ALWAYS tired. i am ALWAYS cold. i bruise easily.

whats wrong with me?

I clean my ears every morning when I get out of the shower. They seem to never be clean, they always itch, and sometimes I clean them 2 or 3 times during the day because they itch. Whats happening? is that normal?

I have had fibromyalgia for a few years, and really can't remember what it feels like to feel "good." I was searching for treatments and saw that accupucture might help. Has anyone had successful treatment with accupuncture? Or any other remidies for that matter. Thanks!

For about two weeks, I've noticed that I get sick after eating - usually, if I eat anything heavy. The nausea occurs a half hour after eating, and usually lasts for that long. I don't vomit, though, even if I try. I have no prior health problems, and this happens randomly (but I notice it happens more in the evening). Before, I used to be able to eat ANYTHING, and in huge amounts. I'm 17, and my mom is the type who won't take me to the doctor unless I'm practically vomiting blood or unconscious. Any possibilities of what it could be? I'd think food poisoning, but I'm perfectly fine unless I eat (and even if I eat non-junky food, I'm usually ok).

Here is what I remember getting nauseous from:

* A McDonald's Fish Filet thing
* A homemade tortilla-eggplant-homemade tomato sauce "pizza"
* Broccoli & Cauliflower dipped in tomato/pepper/eggplant dip.
* Hot Cheetos

Think I better mention this: I am *NOT* pregnant. I'm a virgin, never beyond kissing.

When I run, even for short distances, there is a pain in the lower/middle area of my abdomen. Could this be a sign of an Appendicitis? This has been going on for a few years now.

Also, that area started to feel cramped when I'm not running about a few days ago. I haven't done much physical activity in a few weeks :-(.

I had mono a month or so ago, got relatively better, than got really sick again. I was diagnosed with bronchitis this time but can't help thinking it's something different; possibly worse. I have a constant fever, bad cough, incredible fatigue and joint aches. The most alarming symptom is a dull pressing pain in the middle of my chest or sternum. It's not excrutiating, but it is still somewhat painful. I've also had bad stomach cramps since being sick the second time. I know its impossible to diagnose without seeing someone, but any ideas off the top of your head?

The first few days it was so bad I stayed home from work. I went to the doctor. The rapid strep test said negative, and the 24 hour one said 'minimal' strep. I took penicillin for a week, and it did not completely clear up.
I went to the doctor again, and both strep and mono tests turned out negative.

Symptoms: fatigue, soreness swallowing/moving tongue
The soreness is usually worse in the morning and later in the evening. Since this started, I've had about 3 days where the throat didn't hurt at all.

I'm wondering if maybe I had strep to begin with which the penicillin cleared up, but perhaps I have something else or I am having an allergic reaction to something? I can't think of anything in my environment which has changed recently.

Please, there has to be some competent person in the medical field out there. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I caught my 13 yr old son chewing. Broke my heart! I would have never thought he woulda done it. He harps on my husband all the time for doing it. I know all of his friends do it. I told him his grandfather lost 10 siblings to cancer.his grandmother lost 4 to cancer. I'm scared to death for him. I know they have other tests out you can do but can you get 1 for tobacco? if so, where? I know alot of you will think this is terrible of me but I love my son more than life itself and I will do ANYTHING to protect him from this. Until he passes this phase of thinking it's cool to chew.

my mom's had it for a few years, and hers is getting increasingly worse, she can't walk and can barely hold a spoon and stuff. she also has trouble talking, but i was wondering does it also affect how they think? because she does NOT make sense alot of the time and thinks she does. plus she gets very stubborn about things like her drink. she will continuosly choke on a glass of water, yet she will refuse to leave it unfinished and asks for another...it makes my dad go crazy sometimes...and i was wondering if this is somehow connected?

I have upper middle to right abdominal pain that sometimes spreads to my back in the middle right area. I know most of you willl say go see a doctor but I have Iatrophobia which is a fear of going to the doctors. It sounds stupid but I'm cursed with this. Some people told me it may be gallstones that is causing my back and abdominal pain. Are there meds or home remedies I can try or what other problem could my symptoms be? Those are the only two symptoms I have. Bowel movement and urination are both normal.
Thanks

My surgury was two years ago and even though many of my post surgury symptoms have returned (lethargy, depression, trouble concentrating, sensitivity to cold and numerous mysterious aches and pains) my Dr. has lowered my dosage of Levothyroxine. Is there one level of thyroid hormone that is right for everyone or should she be paying more attention to how I feel?

What is scoliosis. I know it has something to do with a curved spine, but what are the symptons and what causes it? I have to get a screening for it at school, but why that disease? Why not like HIV or something? Why is it so vital that we don't have it?

He is 23 yrs. old & plays rugby for his university but he doesn't remember getting hit to do this injury.

I have had blood in my stool for over a year and a half now, I am in the military and have gone to the doctor about 2 years ago for a colonoscopy and they found nothing but told me i have some Hemorrhoids, they gave me some stuff to put in my water and sent me on my way. i went in about 3 months later complaining about the same thing and they did another quick check of my colon and said nothing was wrong. now it has been about a year and a half and i have been bleeding about 3 times a weeks, sometimes more when i use the bathroom. all bright red color blood.I know i should go to medical again but just hate the routine two finger check they seem to do everytime. could it just be the Hemorrhoids ?

our baby's (1y/o) 1st pedia diagnosed him having PM by looking at his xray result alone and prescribed the anti-tb kit. after 2 months we consulted a pediatric pulmonary specialist,due to persistent coughing, who conducted a skin test w/c resulted negative and ordered us to discontinue his medication. His 1st pediatrician reasoned that it would give a false negative because our baby has already started his medication.we are greatly confused 2 different views, from a pediatrician and a pediatrician-pulmonary specialist.who do we believe? pls advice anyone!tnx

Ok, because teachers are evil, my Sociology teacher assigned a paper over Spring break. I need your help. If you could please send me 10-12 words that you think relate to 'aging' or 'old' you will be my next best friend (after the 15 people I have already promised die.) So for example, you might think that 70 is 'old' so that would be one of your words (or phrases) Please give your answers in list form. I have to get 14+ people this next week. If you do choose to participate, please include your Age, Gender, Location, and Ethnicity as these are all part of the assignment. If you don't include them I have to guess. Thanks everyone

Please give your answers in list form like this:
1. 70
2. walkers
3.
4.
etc
thanks!
