I know that many were at grave risk from having to take blood products and may have contracted AIDs before it was known to be a problem.

The patient is a 22 year old female who likes to binge drink. She has never been treated for schizophrenia before since her symptoms didn't develope until recently and she currently isn't taking any other meds. Many first line antipsychotics cause sedation and are best not mixed with alcohol due to the risk of exessive sedation.

Please tell me what you would choose and why. References are appreciated.

Thanks!

For about the past couple weeks, I have been getting a warm sensation that starts at my thigh and travels down to my toes. It moves generally slow (about 5-10 seconds to complete), and happens every 30-60 minutes when I'm awake, whether I'm sitting, standing, laying down, etc.

The only practical way I can describe it to my friends is that it feels like an invisible dog is relieving himself on my leg. It just feels warm/hot and then once it gets to my feet, it stops. It's only in my left leg.

Going to the doctor this week, but what could it be?

A few months ago, I started to get a small patch of dry skin on my elbow. I thought nothing of it, and figured it was no big deal. It has now become a one inch by one inch patch of rough cracked skin, and I finally put some lotion on it(Gold Bond Triple Action). I also noticed a patch of dry skinabout 3 inches up my arm from the elbow, on my forearm, but like the other one started, it is very small. I don't do doctors and hospitals, and I know that's probably dumb, but I just don't think it's a big deal. Anyone know what this might be, and how I can treat it? Also it was a little sensetive to the cream I put on last night. I don't know if that's important, but figured I'd share. Thank you for any help you may have. Oh, it also hurts quite a bit if I lean on it.

I dont really have sex nearly at all. However, I started a new relationship with someone and I've been having swollen lymph nodes (both sides of the neck), missed periods and yeast infection symptoms. These symptoms occurred in November and I havent had a period since. I went to the doctor, I am not pregnant, but I was recently diagnosed with Reactive Hypoglycemia and Thalassemia Minor. Does anybody have any clue what could be going on? Do you think the 2 conditions could be causing the problem or just stress? Please help.

My total cholesterol is 239, triglyecerides are 274, and LDL is 143. Can this condition make you FEEL like you have hypoglycemia? Why do I get shaky, sick, and feel like I am starving all of a sudden like my sugar is low when my blood sugar test turned out great? Do cholesterol and triglycerides give you the same kind of symptoms or is something else going on?

I have reflux that is not responding to Protonix anymore. Doc says its non-acid reflux and wants me to try Reglan (5mg 3x a day) but Im really scared to try it after reading horrible experiences from people. I have had another doc and pharmacist tell me the drug can help and most likely wont cause anything serious but Im still really scared and dont know what to do.

My temperature (I think it was my temperature, don't really know though, maybe its just a blood pressure thing, which would in itself be extremely odd, anyways) just went down in an unbelievably strange way, I felt like I was out in the extreme cold (which I would classify as 20.0 farenheit, the lowest ever -at least on a day-in-day-out basis in winter where I live), when it is really about 73º F right now (literally, actually). Also, I began to breathe in that very awkward and comic way you breathe when you are out in the severe cold and don't want to be, i.e. waiting for the bus to come or whatever.

What could this be due to, --first time it ever ever EVER happened to me-- lasted about 10 min., a little less actually, like eight or so.

Please, educated guesses at the very least, I've got two t-shirts on, (the thicko kind...) and a sweater and a hooded really nice and almost brand-new sweatshirt on, and am still cold, just not shaking and breathing funny anymore.

Thanks

I didn't believe it when I heard it. Swallow a teaspoon of sugar and your hiccups go away. One day when I had a particularly long and painful case of the hiccups, this is what my roommate told me. It was a new home remedy to me, I'd never ever heard that one before. I'd tried holding my breath, getting startled, drinking a glass of water while holding my breath... None of the home remedies had ever worked for me. She told me that she had been the same, until she tried this one she'd gotten from her genius ex-girlfriend. I figured anything is worth a shot, so I tried it. I was shocked when it worked. But it works for me, and that's what's important.

The reason I told you all of this is so that I don't get a bunch of responses saying that this doesn't work, or that I should try some other remedy. I know how to cure MY hiccups, and that's all I need.

Now, I would like to know if anyone knows the scientific reason why this works. I've heard a few different ones, I want the truth.
