I have reflux that is not responding to Protonix anymore. Doc says its non-acid reflux and wants me to try Reglan (5mg 3x a day) but Im really scared to try it after reading horrible experiences from people. I have had another doc and pharmacist tell me the drug can help and most likely wont cause anything serious but Im still really scared and dont know what to do.

I say - give it a try. Works great for some people. Not for me - jitters, crazy restless, then sleepy, loss of balance, jerks, over-emotional, and stupid... on the other hand, about a week in I went out to the mall, just for fun, for the first time in months. I found it worked great for my stomach - only problem was, I had to trade in my ability to focus on anything at all...

I'd say, take it for a couple of weeks. If you're starting to act like you've got Parkinson's - well, then your doc will probably take you off the meds. Permanent side effects take a bit longer to set in, anyhow. But maybe you'll be fine, and Reglan sure does kill nausea. I hope it works for you! Good luck -

My daughter who is 12 takes raglan 10mg 2x a day. It speeds up digestion. If you do not have acid reflux why is the Dr. giving this to you? This medicin is for gerd, nausea vomiting and heartburn.

let me get this straight now......your doctor and pharmacist both said this is a good choice that will likely help.

Yet you are seeking input and assurance from strangers with dubious credentials.

Let a second pharmacist give his opinion. Take the medicine and see how it works. Good luck.
