just get him alone in a bar with low lighting and lots of ambiance, reach across and grab him by the pocket protector and look him square in the eyes and say...alright, there's just somethin' i gotta know about you before we go any further..."What is your background, any malpractice suits or suspensions.? What is your rate of success in shoulder replacement surgeries? And, this better be the truth, or I'm blowin' this joint (so to speak)"

that should do it. he should be very honest with you at that point. oh, and it wouldn't hurt to wear something a little low-cut and slightly on the trashy side.

if that doesn't work because he's a little shy...or he's gay, you can go to this site and look up the state medical board in the state he is in and find out everything you need to know...and maybe some stuff you didn't want to know...

oh, and some doctors will provide you with a list of satisfied patients upon request, but i think that is only in third world countries. and, you'll need to know a foreign language...so, study up!

You will find no data on his surgical success in replacements unless you ask the doctor or his patients. You will however; find that any board complaint, malpractice is public information and can be found on the website of the medical board of examiners in your state. If any professional infraction has occured to a doctor it will be posted and stay with the doctor forever.

I know the connecticut department of public health posts something like malpractices agains doctors on their website if you search by doctors name. Perhaps other departments of health have this or you could contact them.
