lack of sleep and loss of appetite are some of the symptoms of depression. If you sleep during the day chances are you will not be sleepy at night. Are you still doing the things that make you happy.?Are you unmotivated, having lack of interest in evry day living.Do you isolate yourself from your friends? If not then the cause of your lack of sleep may be poor sleep hygiene.Try taking a relaxing tub bath just before going to bed.Do not do any strenuous exercises before going to bed.Try not to get upset just before you go to bed.You could try drinking a warm glass of milk. The tritphan in the warmed up milk does induce sleep (but this is contrversy)Play soft relaxing music as you try to fall asleep.
