When I run, even for short distances, there is a pain in the lower/middle area of my abdomen. Could this be a sign of an Appendicitis? This has been going on for a few years now.

Also, that area started to feel cramped when I'm not running about a few days ago. I haven't done much physical activity in a few weeks :-(.

The pain you are describing is also known as a "stitch", it happens when particular muscles in your body are contracting, due to exercise in your case running, most people will keep running and it eventually goes away, the more active you are the more your muscles will work with your body, instead of against.. When you are relaxed and haven't worked out for a while then your muscles will start contracting or loosening..
If you are worried, call your local GYM and ask to speak to a physical trainer and express your concerns, they are more than happy to help..

It could possibly be a hernia, they are usually caused by lifting heavy objects the wrong way. A hernia is a small tear in the muscle lining around your abdomen. Sometimes when you run or move at an awkward angle or even when you cough you can feel a sharp pain around your stomach region.
I had a double hernia years ago, and like you I had been feeling the pains for a long time before getting it checked. It is a simple operation to get fixed and you can be back to normal activities in a couple of weeks. Go to your doctor and they can refer you to somebody who will check it out for you.

When you get that pain, I know that its acid, and I think that its called lactic acid. Its nothing to worry about, keep running regularly and it will go away.
