I've always just assumed I was either out of shape (though I am a dancer) or just a compulsive eater, but I'm beginning to think I'm hypoglycemic. If I don't snack fairly consistently, I become very dizzy / weak feeling. Sometimes, I even become shaky. I decided to do some research on it and I read that people with hypoglycemia often have nightmares, sweat in their sleep (enough that it makes their pajamas/sheets wet), and still feel tired when they wake up. All three of these apply to me. I often feel fatigue, have insomnia, allergies, and sometimes have heart palpitations. Diabetes runs rampant throughout my family - both of my grandfathers have it and so does my father and one of his sisters. For those of you who are hypoglycemic, does it sound like I could possibly have it? Would I be able to go to my campus health center and have it checked out (I am an hour and a half away from home and, thus, my regular doctor)? Anything and everything you can tell me would be appreciated.

Everytime I come home from school like around 6 pm my blood

sugar is really high cause I can feel it and I put 15 units of novolog

and then I sit down at my computer. Then minutes later as my

blood sugar is rushing down I can feel the muscles in my legs

just tightening up, and as I get up from my chair one of my legs

just starts cramping really bad, it hurts so much that I just fall on

my bed and start screaming, and minutes later the other leg does

the same thing.

I also get cramps on my toes, ankles, thumbs but its not as painful as the calves.

I think I have diabetes. Last year I started a job where I am on my feet most of the day and parts of my feet went numb. at first I thought it was my shoes but it doesn't go away even on the weekends. I think it is diabetes.
Is there any thing I can do to stop this, like a chnge of diet? I'm going to the doctor soon but I'd like to know what you people think.

hello. im a 15 year old boy. when i was little, my mom said i had some sort of food allergy where i got grumpy when I ate sugar. To me, it sounded like diabetes. However, she says it wasn't, and i remember having to go to some doctor yearly to get a shot, and couldn't eat certain foods for 3 days. Does anyone know what this is? I have no clue. Could it lead to diabetes? thankyou.

I drink about 9 32 oz cups of lemon ice water a day. I had my blood checked which reveals no diabetes. I'm addicted to chewing ice. IS that bad. How close do you think I have to getting diabetes. I'm 45 lbs overweight and almost 39. My BMI is 29.

What is a normal level for people without diabetes and the maximum value your blood sugar should be at?

Websites and books all have their own values. From http://www.overcome-diabetes.com/educator63.htm “In people without diabetes, blood glucose usually does not exceed 7 mmol/l” that means the glucose level should not be over 7 mmol/l x 18 = 126 mg? Is that random values? Other places say 110 mg or even 100 mg. Randomly I range 72 to 200, is this normal?

I was at 159 mg after working out and my doctor said it is a normal value for non-diabetics

Thank you for all you’re your great input
