Normal will depend on the lab used, every lab has slightly different values. In general 80 to 120 is considered normal. Your glucose will run a little lower when a fasting blood sugar is taken and higher 1-2 hours after a meal.

my 3 yr old daughter ( type 1 diabetic) levels are supposed to be above 100 to 199 is normal. lower than 100 is too low and higher than 200 is too high. It depends on the age of the child 1 to 5 yr olds are these levels i mentioned 6 to 9 I think is 90 to 150, as far as adults I don't know I want definitely talk to an endocrinologist or Dr. first. http://www.jdrf.org is good for child with diabetes ( both types) and the American diabetes association is good for both adults and kids.
P.s. the reson for higher levels in younger kids is better brain development.and The risk of hypogycemia is less of a risk to the child. levels can drop quickly and some times it is easier to recover from lower levels.

normal is the same for everyone. however some parents of diabetic children try to keep their kids sugar level a little heigher then an adults only because of kids being so active and trying to avoid a low. But the normal range of 80-120 applies for all.

According to the books that I've read and studied from (which many have all different "normal" readings), it should be from 80 to 100 for both children and adults. Other books say 60 to 100.
