Did the doctor observe the tremors? Do you have constant tremor or is it intermittant? What kinds of things are you doing just before this happens? How long do the tremors last? What makes them better or worse? These are things you should be telling your doctor. There are causes for hand tremor other than "weakness" which is vague at best. Go back to your doctor and assert yourself.

It would help to know if you take medication on a regular basis, but you may have an idiopathic tremor or it could be a sign of parkinson's disease. Some medications like asthma meds make your hands shake. Also a hyperthyroid can do it too. Check with your doctor for any of these problems a simple blood test could rule out a serious problem and there are some medication to reduce symptoms. Hope this helps!

Since you asked this question in the 'diabetes' section, I assume you have diabetes. If you are diabetic, 'the shakes' is a sign of low blood sugar.
I realize that conventional health care is necessary and appropriate. That having been said, there are many things WE can do to overcome type II diabetes, and improve life as a Type I diabetic. I've been researching alternative medicine, and the amount of help that's available to diabetics is amazing.
Natural remedies are quite effective, and include:
Cinnamon
Bitter Melon
Gymnema Sylvestre
Nopal cactus
American Ginseng
Fenugreek
Chromium picolinate
Cinnamon regulates glucose, and has a polyphenol compound called MHCP that mimics insulin and activates cell receptor sites. A quarter teaspoon twice daily makes a difference. Fenugreek increases blood flow and inhibits the growth of infectious organisms. Everything on the list has a use in fighting diabetes. Learn how to use these herbs and don't fall victim to diabetes needlessly. You can find out about about them on line, or in a book I read cover to cover--
"One Son's Quest for the Cause and Cure of Diabetes", ISBN 7890766313
The author, a doctor, lost his mother to diabetes and spent the next 20 years finding a way to overcome it. My brother was dying of diabetes, and I was just starting to need insulin when we came across this definitive work which came out in February 2005. We both lead mostly normal lives now. It's a life saver, and the best money you'll ever spend on the subject if you decide to go that way.
You might want to check Abe Books, Alibri's, or Amazon.com for a good used copy cheap. I bought mine new, and I think it was about $35. I don't get any money from anybody for telling you this--just want to help, and the techniques in this book is what made the difference for me and mine. Best of luck.

If you're hands are trembling, then they are obviously not perfect. It could be either something physical or there is the possibility of the problem being psychological.
Go see another doctor to resolve this.

I would get another apointment and tell him your hands are still brothering you. Keep making appointmnets so your doctor will know that is a health issue you have. Also go get a second opinion from another doctor. My first doctor told me I didnt have asthma but I got a second opinion from another doctor. Some doctors are in a hurry or just lazy so if you dont make an issue of it they will just brush you away because its a lot easier for them not to do nothing and not to treat you.

I know your situation. It's exactly the same with my mom.
My mom's hands have been trembling since she's teen.
She went to see doctors many times.
They always told her there's nothing wrong with her health.
It's because my inherited from my grandfather.
Then I bought cellular nutrition food for my mom.
She just ate it twice. Her hands stopped trembling.
(We eat it as our breakfast everyday)
You can try it. It really works!!

Whenever my hands shake it's because my blood sugar is low, so I just eat something. Like a candy bar or something.
