I am a diabetic, but have never used prednisone, but I do have an Aunt who died, who had used to several times over her life time of having diabetes. From her and others I have heard that some people have problems with their Glucose staying much higher then before the prednisone for as long as six months after being on it no more then one week.

If you're Glucose is staying up, then whomever you see for your diabetic care, needs to up the dosage on your diabetic meds, whether that is a pill or insulin. You can't just leaveit high. Then they and you both need to monitor your Glucose more closely until it begins to come down, as it comes down sadly the frist sign might be an episode where suddenly your Glucose bottoms out too low. You'll need to really watch your Glucose levels, more then you did before. It will come back down in time, but in the mean time you need to be using enough of whatever your medication is, to keep it controlled.

See your doctor right away and get it under control!

GOOD LUCK!

that depends on how much you were taking and for how long.
talk to your pharmacist to get an idea of how long it will take for the prednisone to clear your system. Some drugs have a really long "half-life" and take weeks others only a few days.
That way, you know if it really is the prednisone now and not another factor.
