ok..I love my Mother-in-Law. She is a very sweet lady , loves my children and we get along great. But only problem I have with her is her cats. She got 3 cats and she has asthma. I really don't understand why she even bother to have cats. But each time I go see her..I load up with allergy medicines so I won't get sick too bad. But this past Christmas...well, I got sick for couple weeks. Imagine to drive back to home was very long for me. (from KY to NY~ 14hr drive) I have told her occassionally that cats makes me sick and I don't even touch them. I told my husband that I may not be able to visit/stay in her house anymore. I just don't like being sick.

i have been prescribed a 3 day course of 200 mg and i have noticed my scalp and ears become really itchy, even inside my ears

due to a bad cold which I got amoxycilin for and didn't finish the course (!). On top of that, I got hayfever so the doctor, along with antihistimines prescribed me Flixonase nasal spray. Which I used and then since September, my nose and been totally clear.

Until a few weeks ago and now its back to very, very itchy first thing in the morning, sneezing loads and a blocked nose. Then about a half hour after I get up, its fine. I do still smoke - could it be an allergic reaction to that?? It's driving me mad!

Another thing, excuse the crudeness but when I blew my nose first this morning, it was yellowy...then clear after that...is that an infection??

My 10.5 month old little girl had colic from 3 weeks to 5 months. Doctors determined that it was a cow milk/soy protein allergy. I cut out all dairy in my diet and she got better :) I was able to nurse until she was 7 months old. I tried her on nutramigen, allimentum but she was having no part of it. I tried nestle good start dha and ara and we havent had any problems for almost 4 months, not that she drinks the amount that shes supposed to, (20 ounces a day) So I thought she had grown out of her allergy. As she is getting close to a year old and is a picky eater I wanted her to stay on the formula but switch to the #2 made by good start. I tried her on 3 bottles over a weeks time of half old/half new and profuse vomiting within 5 mins of taking bottle. So what do I do when she turns one. Do I try her on the Whole milk, Do I have any other options?? or keep her on the baby formula thats been working so far??

My symptoms included:

sharp pains in the stomach
feeling 'fed up'
the runs- some times with white skin or something that looked like it
Adreialin rushes
vomitting
Nausea
difficulty breathing (for example, I woke up gasping for air.. I could not breathe - mum says - but I can't remember a thing - that's scary!

Am I a Coeliac? or do I have wheat intolerence?

We used to have radiator heat and now have central air. I have noticed most of the family coughing and having problems breathing when we run the heat. I am looking into having the ducts cleaned but my question is what can I do to add moisture to the air without adding the bacteria that some of the humidfiers put out?

I had never heard of it until today, but I definately have it. When I eat certain raw fruits or vegitables my throat itches. Looking at some of the reaserch I think I am allergic to allot more of them than I thought. Like when I cut up raw potatoes my hands itch and I have to make sure not to touch my face until after I wash my hands. I had never really thought of it as an allergy, but I guess it is. I have always had very bad hayfever, which is what causes OAS. When I was younger I thought everyones troat itched when they ate certain veggies and I just didn't like them. But what I am currious about is if anyone else who has this has found that if they drink milk with or put ranch dressing on the fruit/vegies, if that helps prevent the reacion, atleast the more mild ones. From what I have read it makes sense, the reaction is in the mucous and milk coats your throat. But I am just wondering if this is true for anyone else. I haven't found any reaserch on it, but I know it is true for me. Like if I eat a bananna my throat will itch, but if I drink a glass of milk with it I'm fine. I'm sure it still itches a little in between drinks, but I can enjoy eating it.

Daughter has asthma, eczma, hayfever, allergies etc, now diagnosed coeliac by blood test. Hospital appointment in May, do I switch to gluten free now? which I understand will effect results the hospital gets when they see her, of carry on until May and told what to do. Also, could this cause her asthma to be so unstable? She has been bad for about three months now, on oral steroids etc.
All help much appreciated.

Every morning I wake up with a blocked nose, I have a really runny nose and sneeze my head off, why?

After an hour or so it goes and I sometimes take anti-allergy tablets which usually clears it up.

Anyone have any tips?

I'v had my 2 lovely cats for three months. in that time, ive had 2 chest infections. The doc had given me a steroid inhaler, and ive been fine for about a month. I had an allergy test and apparanty im extemely allergic to them. i dont get it, i can be in a room with them and i dont sneeze of get runny eyes or anything. doc said if i keep them im likely to keep getting chest infections. he said its very unlikely that i can build immunity, and if anything ill become more sensitive to them. is there really nothing i can do, i really dont wanna get rid of them!
