I have hives that have disappeared and reappeared over the past few days. I went to the doc and he perscribed Prednisolone as well as Benedryl and cool compresses for itchings. He also told me to avoid baths.

I have been taking both meds according to dosage reccomendations and I still itch all over. Also, the cool compresses seem to make me break out even more in the areas where I apply the coldness. Does anyone have any ideas that don't require bathing?

starting around 3weeks ago, every time i bath using soap bars, i end up with these red patches on my arms which become very sore and dry...

they don't really itch but it really hurts and it feels like i've just burnt myself... after the bath this soreness lasts around 5hours... but the redness stays for longer. do you know what's causing this?

I developed an immunity to my old allergy medicine, allegra, so had to switch. My doctor perscribed zyrtec. I have been taking it for about a week. I have been late to work every day this week due to my inability to wake up. My doctor initially told me to take it before bed, so I've been moving the time of dosage back further and further to try and counteract the drowsiness. No luck. I've also been somewhat tempermental since I started taking it... like I punched the button to the elevator I was so pissed off this morning about being late again. I'm groggy all day and lose my train of thought half way through doing something. Luckily my boss has bad allergies too and understands I'm adjusting to a new medicine.

I'm taking 10mg once a day. I'm 5'4'', slightly built and weigh 110. Could the dosage be too high for my metabolic rate? Has anyone else experienced the mood swings after taking this? I've been totally out of character since I started taking this.

I have really sensitive skin and for some reason stupidly used Sally Hansen's Hair Removal cream. I'm having a severe allergic reaction, it itches and hurts and my (white) skin is now almost purple. I've taken some Prednisone that i got last time i had a really bad reaction to poison ivy since this is so similar, but it's old and not doing any good. i also tried aloe but it's not any better. i cant go to the doctor because i dont have insurance.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Antihistamines? Even something natural like putting some kind of food on the skin??

I'm currently sick and have allergies and have a constant runny nose. Usually, the runny nose is also stuffy so I can't blow my nose to help and it just keeps pouring out and alternates from one side to the other. What can I do to help?

I don't know if this is being ridicoulous. But I was wondering, I never really drink milk, and i've had sort of like issues with milk and milk products my whole life. So, I had cookies and milk today, and I got a horrible stomach ache, and I was wondering, if anyone like, maybe, idk. Could I be lactose intolerant?

Can food allergies appear very suddenly? I have never had problems with eating strawberries until two days ago, when I started breaking out in hives. It's definitely the strawberries, not something else I ate. Do food allergies often appear out of the blue like this?

My GP wasn't much use in terms of a diagnosis. So, any thoughts, ideas, and especially cures would be much-appreciated. The rash begins on my chest and back, quite small, round, slightly raised red welts--these do not itch much. The uglier part of the rash is on my face. I woke up this morning with a red and itchy forehead and nose, and it's slowly spread over the rest of my face during the day. It's more a 'solid' rash on my face--that is, not spots like on my belly. I'm just getting over a bad 48-hr flu. The doctor says the rash could be from the virus, but he is skeptical of this because virus-related rashes do not affect the face. He thinks it may be a drug-reactant rash, but none of the meds I've taken seem to have this side effect profile. I took Tylenol (not overdose, but a lot during my high fever period), a few doses of cough syrup, and nutritional supplements (L-Tyrosine, DLPA, 5HTP). He says the amio acids are unlikely culprits. On antihistamines now, but no change. Help?
