starting around 3weeks ago, every time i bath using soap bars, i end up with these red patches on my arms which become very sore and dry...
they don't really itch but it really hurts and it feels like i've just burnt myself... after the bath this soreness lasts around 5hours... but the redness stays for longer. do you know what's causing this?

It could be that you are simply allergic to that kind of soap. you might never know if you haveit or not unless you check it out with a doctor.

Well the first things is when you said 'everytime i bath using soap bars i end up patches on my arms which become very sore and dry'
maybe its not eczema. Maybe its the soap thats infecting you. If you washed without that soap and your still getting it its possible it is exzema. But you have to be sure it is because if its not exzema and you putted some medicine into it it mite infect you. Go to ur doc and if it is then i know a way to treat it.

I have excema and it itches. what it sounds like to me is that you are allergic to the perfume in the soap. I use Oil of Olay bath bars Sensitive they are the ones with the green strip on them. Also Aveeno oatmeal products are good. For my excema I use Emu Oil products from wonderoil.com. If It feels liek you have burnt yourself, you probably have. Something to aide that could help sooth the pain. You also need to contact your doctor you could have an undiagnosed skin condition like psoriasis or something.
From my doctors and my own experience excema does rear its head alone. I have one type which is excema and allergies (weird ones like the adhesive on many bandages and such), there is also excema and asthma, and the third is excema and asthma and allergies. But proper diagnosis is important. The only thing I have found that heals up my excema is the emu oil, and I have been dealing with this for over twenty years. My methodology is to keep things as natural as possible and as fragrance free as possible. And no, and I mean NO fabric softener on your clothes. It really can aggravate any skin condition you may have. Good Luck!

It could be one of many things. First off, you could have an allergy to one of the ingredients in the soap you are using. Secondly, I don't know where you live but here in Southern California we have had really cold and dry weather and that could also play a factor. Then, of course, the soap could be too harsh and you are rubbing yourself to hard. Try using a different brand of soap and see what happens. If the rash or whatever it is leaves, then you'll know it was the soap and not you.

It does sound like exzema. And it sounds painful!
Try using a different soap: The one you have now is giving you some very bad reactions. You might even want to look at getting oatmeal soap, or something similar from a health food store.
Good luck!

This could be an allergic reaction to the soap. Try hypo-allergenic soaps to see if this makes a difference. Eczema is very itchy. You could be developing psoriasis, which a doctor can diagnose (there are treatments).

Maybe excema, but it is probably dry winter skin or an allergy in the soap. Sounds like excema though, but excema is treatable with lotions.

my brother has exema very bad all over his body. he doesn't use regular soap. he uses this soap called Cetaphill or something like that. and you can't bathe everyday(it sounds gross but...). because if bathe everyday, you'll take away some of the oil that will help your skin get better. [like one day, you'll take a bath, the next day, you won't]. and get some cream that will protect it. try the jar of Cetaphill cream. you can get it at a local drug store. and stay away from heat. because heat will make you sweat; it'll make your skin worse.

sounds like it's time for the doctor...also how hot is the water you are using? next time try a bath and just sit in some epsensalts (warm ...not hot water) see if that helps.
