My son is 18, when he drinks milk, or some brands of ice cream, and use crest toothpaste.. and chapstick of all kinds...

his lips would swell up the next day and secrete a sticky liquid. and a rash would appear around his mouth. one or two tiny bumps appear. nothing painful. but he says its an irritating sensation in and around his lips.
after a few days his lips would be really dry and cracked, the irritating feeling remains. the dry lips lasts a very long time, takes a week or two .. sometimes up to a month to heal depending on how much milk he drank.

Last night, my fiancee and I went to a chinese restaurant. I ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup. Neither of us knew that there was shrimp in the soup. My fiancee is highly allergic to seafood, and he took a bite. Immediately after, he began to have gas, and about an hour after taking the one bite, he started having severe diarrhea then vomiting. Now, the following morning, he has very bad joint pain. He hasnt eaten anything because anything he eats, he throws up. Last night, he even vomited blood with whatever else it was he ate. If someone has any idea of how to relieve his symtoms that would be great! Or also if anyone knows why he would be vomiting blood, that would be something good to know as well. Thank you.

i have bad allergies, and have ruled out most everything except dust mites... i think this is the problem... i'm sicker in the morning, which could be attributed to dust in the mattress... would a vinyl matress cover help? or do i need to get the antimicrobial one? money is a factor here (full time student)... so i would prefer the vinyl... but not if it isn't going to help at all... thanks for your help.

I got my cat September 5, 2006 and my mom just started sneezing a couple of weeks ago. Can you develop allergies to a cat after you`ve had him for a while. But she is also allergic to flower pollen and thats it. And it is winter so that could not affect it.

About 5 months ago I got strep throat. I took penecillin and the strep went away but the sore throat never did. My teeth started hurting also. The dentist said my teeth look ok. Could I have some sort of allergy that the strep may have caused?

This is a bit complicated, but I'm trying to get insight on what other things I can look at. So here goes...I can't eat milk chocolate. When I eat any more than a small bite, I tend to get sick. This only happens in the hours after eating any large amount of chocolate (and for me, large is anything more than one piece of Hershey's (not the whole bar! Just one of the segmented pieces), or one bar of something like Carmello (which is milk chocolate filled with caramel). It happens for usually no more than 4 hours after, but in that time, I almost always get nauseous, sometimes get muscle spasms, less often get numbness in my hands and feet (like, if I try to eat a whole bar of solid milk chocolate, like Hershey's), and very rarely have nerve sensitivity all over my body (anything rubbing or pressing against my skin bothering me, kinda painful, very irritating). So...I'm trying to figure out, what is this? An allergy?

More information coming...

I recently went for an allergy test, due to a bad reaction over the holiday season (Christmas Eve) after eating homemade cookies and sweets given to me by a friend. Within in an hour of eating them I started to get a runny nose then my throat felt scratchy & tight. Although I was concerned I did not go to the hospital, because I thought I was getting a cold. I took an antihistamine, but it did very little to help the nose & throat that night. By the following day the nose had stopped running, but my throat felt tight and it hurt to swallow. This lasted about three days and finally cleared up. I went for an allergy scratch test earlier this week, & the test found I had a small reaction to coconut. The doctor recommended I stay clear of coconut & get an epipen just in case my reaction is worse in the future. I’ve never had a reaction to coconut before, & although the reaction was shown to be small I am concerned. Does anyone else have a coconut allergy & can give me more info?

I took my lab mix to the vet because she had sore in the corner of her eyes and on her nose. The vet did many test and thought it was lupus. Tests all came back fine. They said take away all plastic I did she now has metal water and food bowls. But if I dont give her steriod pill it gets real bad. The steriod helps but it never gets 100% better. and now she has gotten so fat. Has anyone heard of this or know what it is? Ive been to three vets and no one knows. She is 6 years old

I have serious post nasal drip. Surgeries have not helped. I just found out that Bacardi rum stop the drip completely after just a small drink. I have suspected that my 24/7 drip was caused by cold air/weather. I cannot drink rum before going to work. What is the alternative? I live in a very cold place.

About three months ago I found out I am pretty ALLERGIC to milk and have had to eliminate it COMPLETELY from my diet. However, I am still breaking out in hives. I believe I have found the trigger in my asthma inhaler, Flovent (white cannister, orange holder). I looked at the patient information and sure enough it says to advise your doctor if you have an allergy to milk.

Before the milk allergy was diagnoised I reacted VERY badly to both Serentide and Pulimcort (Budosinide), again both say if you have an allergy to milk inform you doctor.

I'm wondering if anyone with a milk allergy have a problem with their Flovent/Flixotide perscription? If so what do you take instead, everything that I read says the same thing. I'm going to the doctor but would like to be a little informed when I walk into the office, please help.

If I am taking meds daily to control/prevent the hives, how can I find out what is causing them??!! (finding out by eliminating certain foods for a period of time). Know what I mean? How can I see whats causing the reaction if I continue the meds?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have been suffering for months! Thanks!
