You definitely can absorb eye drops into your system...beta blocker eye drops can and do cause slow heart rates. Chloramphenicol is usually well tolerated but could cause problems if he is allergic. Talk to your pharmacist/GP but don't panic as stomach upset isn't a severe allergic reaction...it's just annoying. Be concerned about rashes, shortness of breath or collapse (worse-case scenario...so don't expect last one)

No. Chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic antimicrobial agent (stops the growth of bacteria, doesn't kill bacteria --- it's the best kind of antimicrobial agent, actually). It doesn't cause lymphoma. It treats infections. You don't have lymphoma if that's the next question you are going to ask.

If he is allergic to chloramphenicol DO NOT give it. But if he's not allergic to it, i don't think it can couse stomach upset.

Go to your pharmacist and ask them to consult their MIMS or British Pharmacopoeia. These are the standard works doctors and pharmacists use to check up on drug reactions. There is probably something similar int he reference section of your local library. Ask the librarian, as the book you need may be in the reference only section.
