Any illness or loss of function can cause depression. Having said that, depression is an unusual side effect of allergies. If you are always depressed, get medicated and see a therapist. It's worth it.

I can see where a severe enough allergy to something that one used to enjoy doing and they now cannot could cause depression. There are people who are allergic to sunlight. I can imagine that those people would get depresses. Or if you have common allergies that make you feel bad all the time that could start depression. You should look into allergy shots if the allergies are making your life unbearable.

Yes, in a way...the allergies block your nose, you sleep worse and develop sleep apnea and then you feel depressed because you are sleep-deprived. I'd treat those allergies more aggressively

yes it can. if u have allergies/ it causes you to feel depressed because for one say for instance you like strawberries but u cant eat them because your allergic to them. well yes that would make me depressed. just like if u gets hives all the time foe no apparent reason it makes u miserable. that would depress me also.

Absolutely, who wouldn't be depressed with nose running eyes swelling itching, tired run down, headache, been there done that.Good luck.My Dr. gave me a script for Allegra, because I can't take antihistamines.

Yes. Either because you can no longer indulge in something you used to enjoy immensely, or because your body is not getting something it needs or is worn out from allergic reactions.
