I am not sure if I have a wheat allergy or I am a coleiac?

My symptoms included:

sharp pains in the stomach
feeling 'fed up'
the runs- some times with white skin or something that looked like it
Adreialin rushes
vomitting
Nausea
difficulty breathing (for example, I woke up gasping for air.. I could not breathe - mum says - but I can't remember a thing - that's scary!

Am I a Coeliac? or do I have wheat intolerence?

sounds like a wheat allergy but to rule out coeliac you need a blood test.

usual coeliac symptoms in adults:
- chronic diarrhoea
- weight loss
- anaemia
- weakness
- fatigue.

There is a test you can get to see if you are coeliac which is a wheat/gluten allergy. If you are then you will need to cut out anything that contains normal flour which would include bread, cakes, many gravy powders, pasta etc. Best if you go & discuss with your doctor. Hope this helps

Hello,

(ANS) I am wheat intolerant myself, if you were wheat intolerant the commonest symptoms would be, pains or cramping in the gut shortly after eating wheat based foods like bread, pizza, pies, biscuits, etc anything that contains wheat flour. (usually about 20-min to 30mins after eating the food/meal).

**It may NOT be the effect of just one meal but more likely the accummulated effect of eating several meals all containing wheat based foods.

**You may be intolerant to wheat or gluten (gluten & wheat are the same thing).

**Different people experience very different degree's of negative reaction to specific subtances or foods containing specific substances. So bear in mind that there is a massive difference between food intolerance and food allergy (they are NOT the same thing, no! but they are degree's of severity in reaction). Allergy being worst or stronger a negative reaction by the human body and the bodies immune system.

Other symptoms for wheat reaction would be low mood, or depression, or feeling moros (not wanting to be very socialable). Feeling bloated, no or low energy.

The gluten or wheat might have a metalic taste when put into the mouth if you are hyper (highly) sensitive.

**Allegy testing can have limited uses in helping to identify which specific allegens you might be sensitive too, a GP or family doctor should be able to arrange for you to be tested.

I am a celiac (that's how I spell it) You may not get all the symptoms. When I get gluten, I just don't feel good, I get stomach pains. It's different for different people. I read how some people get hospitailized when they get gluten. Ask your doctor for a test, I took a few to see if I was wheat or Wheat and Gluten.

You may have glutern intolerance (allergic to wheat products). However, its too serious to do a casual disagnosis here. Best see a doctor for tests. If you dont, the symptoms will worsen and you could get intestinal failure.
