For prevention, others have said this, but get a humidifier, and also use Vaseline and salt water nasal spray- you can find it at the drug store, they call it things like Ocean Mist. I carry both things with me and use them when my nose feels dry, frequently.
For treatment, when you get one, pinch the bridge of your nose and don't let it go for at least five minutes. If you're getting them often and home-care measures don't work, check with your doctor, as there may be other issues going on. If not, there are things they can do- some simple, some more drastic- to get them to stop.

Hello! I do have frequent nose bleeds, and while seeing a doctor is recommended, it can be as simple as having a dry nose. This is because there are blood vessels very close to your nose, so if it is dry in there, the blood vessels burst, causing you to bleed.
You can either get some nasel spray, or get a humidifier in your house to make the air not be so dry.

Chronic nosebleeder here :) it's better to tip your head forwards than backwards (otherwise the blood just goes back down and comes up again when you put your head straight) and put a cold towel on the back of your neck. In the end I had my nose burnt and I have never had another nose bleed.

My mom used to get them every day, but my dad bought a humidifier, so that helped a lot. She doesn't get them very often anymore. As for treating them, holding ice to your nose and pinching it usually works for me. And make sure to sit down, that helps as well. I'm not positive whether you're supposed to tilt your head back or forward, so I keep it at the normal angle. I heard that you can choke on the blood if you tilt your head back, and that tilting it forward doesn't help stop the blood flow.

The best thing to do is put a little vaseline in you nose for some moisture. This will help. I had this problem when I was younger and it works great.

going to a doctor, getting frequent nose bleeds could possibly indicate something more seriously.

Sounds like you are severely anemic. You need medication for that before it affects your hearing and vision. See a doctor to do bloodwork for confirmation.
