That biohazard symbol you see on containers in doctor offices. Orange background. A big ring with 3 "c-clamp" shapes on top. What actually is that?

My doctor just told me I suffer from Dickey-do disease, and then the nurse snickered. I can not find mention of this syndrome in my desktop medical reference. Does anyone have any information on this affliction? Please provide a reference.

Does it or doesn't it hurt? A lot of responses here on Yahoo Answers involve it being painful.

However, I also have read that it is just beneath the skin. Since it is like that, wouldn't the pain be nonexistent, as if it were a mosquito bite?

....And if it is a spider bite, how do I get rid of it? The area on my leg, looks like a huge mosquito bite, except I have had it for a few weeks now. It has not gotten any bigger, but is red, hard, and swollen.

I had pneumonia twice in my life. I had a severe case at 8 years old that debilitated me 100% for well over a month (couldn't even play video games). I couldn't exercise properly for nearly a year afterwards without hacking something up or wheezing. I had another instance at age 16 that was much less intense. I just turned 29, and I'm going to be spending a lot of time outdoors this winter walking to work. I'm concerned that I could be vulnerable to getting it again, but I don't know much about the illness, other than the 2 times I got it I was out in the snow a lot.

I see that they have pneumonia vaccine out there but they only reccommend it to people over 65 years old and once in their life.

Does anybody have any knowledge of how many times the average person can get pneumonia? I thought after I got it once I would be covered for life.

I say no, my husband says yes. I thought a cold or flu or pneumonia came from bacterial or viral infections, and germs in general. He says breathing the cold or wet air can cause a baby to develop bronchial problems and pneumonia. I say bundle the baby up and take him out. He says keep him in the house when the weather is bad. Help me settle this dispute...

My boyfriend took some anti-biotics last night around 9. He woke up this morning, and did not tell me, but was getting a rash, and his throat had a swollen feeling. I don't know whay, but he thought it would be ok.
He said it still feels swollen, but it's not getting worse. He still has a rash on his arms, but it's not getting worse.Should
he still go to the E.R. to get it looked at , or should he just call his Dr. for a new med.?

Thanks!
