Since people can be allergic to water or their own sweat, I should think there could be an allergy to just about anything.

Consumption of 'medcine' food not comparable to normal food allergy.
(medcine = substance that changes health status)
Cranberry is as much a medicine as Quinine (used in tonic water), yet both are used in juice because they taste nice. Basicaly - not meant to consume medicine for fun, so if we do, not an allergy, but an intolerance to inappropriate/excess consumption.
And, No, the EU has no obligation to monitor the quantity of what we eat/drink when they certify one componant in one dosage as safe.

If you're referring to cranberry juice, then it can be fatal for people on certain blood thinning medication.

allergies can come and go. you can become allergic or unallergic to something all of a sudden, anything used or ingested can produce allergies.
