I say no, my husband says yes. I thought a cold or flu or pneumonia came from bacterial or viral infections, and germs in general. He says breathing the cold or wet air can cause a baby to develop bronchial problems and pneumonia. I say bundle the baby up and take him out. He says keep him in the house when the weather is bad. Help me settle this dispute...

How old is the baby? I wouldn't because of the chance of getting the infant sick from other people. The rule is that cold weather will not cause someone to get a virus or bacterial infection. But the change in weather can cause sinuses to drain fluid and mimic a cold or allergies. If your baby is ever sick then you must keep them inside, warm and safe, because a cold can develop into pneumonia by going outside into the cold. You are right. I'm a physician assistant and work in family medicine.

Pneumonia is fluid in the lungs, condenced cold air carries more moisture to their systems, not to mention the effects on the alvioli and naisal germ countermeasures. You can take him places when it's cold and wet out, just keep him warm and dry. Don't do it every day and warm the car up first.

The cold, wet air can weaken a baby's immune system and IF he comes into contact will cold or flu germs, he could become sick more easily.

getting sick comes from bacteria and viruses. breathing in cold air is not good, because the lungs are normally warm and moist, but that will not make the child sick. keeping the baby warm, but not overly dressed to where he/she sweats is the main point...maintaining healthy body temperature. good luck...my husband thinks he knows it all too...ha ha.

well technically yes he could get sick. and he is right about pneumonia, you are easily going to catch if out in the rain or cold to long, but babies have a stronger immune system than adults, so it wont be as easy for a baby to catch it.

i think so because bacterial infections can be out side to but it doesnt matter either way because your kid can still get sick in the summer to by puuting the hands in the mouth and stuff because you just dont know what germs they touch when they are not looking.
