It's Bartholin with a capital B. NO! Of course not! This type of cyst is caused by the blockage one of the Bartholin glands. It's not an infection. Yes, they can become infected and abscess but the cyst itself isn't an infection. For an abscess, the antibiotic used depends on the bacteria causing the infection.

Ok, a Bartholin Gland cyst can be caused by a lot of things, among these are infection, swelling, or thick mucus.
Infected Bartholin cysts are sometimes caused by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
If after medical examination it is determined it's due to an STD sensitive to metronidazole (Flagyl) it will be prescribed, along with an antibiotic, like Vibramycin.
You cannot treat or accept treatment suggestions before getting seen by an actual doctor.

Depends on if there is any bacteria present and the type of bacteria. But it won't "cure" the cyst. That only happens if it bursts on it's on or is surgically drained.
