I dropped my contact lens in the bathroom sink 2 weeks ago, and about 2 days after that, the bottom part of my eyes (not the eyeball, but the skin) became painful and swollen. The white part of my eyes were also red. No pus or clear liquid.

Here's what I'm afraid of: my friend (who is sexually active) used the washroom to shower (and probably used the sink to brush his teeth, and rinse too) after "picking up" a guy at a gay bar the night before.

About 5 minutes after he was done, I went in to take a shower, and then after showering, I put my contacts in. Well, I dropped one of them in the sink. I immediately rinsed the contact with my solution (Amo Complete - how well does it disinfect?) using the "rub" method.

How likely is it that my friend transmitted (bacteria, viruses, etc.) something to me? Of course, it could be MY germs, but I'm not sexually active at all, so I don't have an STD.

This week, I got red eyes again after wearing my contacts, so I KNOW they are dirty

I know this is a question that is very common, and has been answered a million times, but with about 20 different answers showing up, I'm looking for a concentrated effort, maybe getting a well-rounded answer.

I tested positive for the disease earlier this week, and am now recovering fairly nicely. The problem is, I'm pretty physically active with my girlfriend, and while I understand the need to be well...c'mon, I'm extremely interested in being able to at least kiss her.

I've read that it can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to 6 months before the contagion goes away. So I'm still utterly confused.

I guess the best thing I can also ask is experiences, hearing from people who've had it and experienced it. If you were in a relationship, how long did you wait before kissing/being physically involved again? What helped you decide you were OK to be active again?

I appreciate any and all answers. With your help I can hope to be back to my old self in no time...

I have had a stuffed nose for 2 years now, but my doctor told me it was enlargened adenoids. I have postnasal drip/stones, and I get throat aches once in a while; I think my tonsils are swollen. Also, my lymph nodes around my jaw area are swollen; they've been like that for a year now. Sometimes, I feel tired in the morning an also in the evenings. It gets better later at night; I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. It's just that I fell tired, and I have dark circles under my eyes. I seriously hope it's not some immune disease/reaction. Does anyone think this might be a life threatening condition? I'm a hypochroniac, BTW.

Just recently I have acquired a MOSQUITO ALLERGY. Before, like most people, I would just develop a littl red itchy bump. Now my where the bite is, my skin swells up twice the size of a half dollar; also it can puff up/out to as big as a golfball. I am 20 years old, and this has happened to me atleast 4 times in the last month (July/August). Yet this has NEVER happened before. I went to the E.R. and they said I was just allergic and prescribed anti-biotics. Just recently I went camping in Delaware, and I acquired 7, yes SEVEN, of the same sized reactions all over my body. Anti-histamine does not work, DEET does not work, OFF! bugspray does not work, and i LOVE THE OUTDOORS so i will not stay inside. HELP? ALLERGIST? What should I do to prevent, treat my problem?

My boyfriend was raped in March. He just had an HIV test in June, which would be the three months window period and it came back negative, so we have had sexual contact. Now, I understand that he has to get tested at six months and one year! Should I have waited the entire one year window period before having sex again with my boyfriend? Please...I am so scared that I have HIV and don't know it. Please help me figure out what the risks of the three month window period are and what I should do.

I'm not talking about gay people, althought I don't really know why they do it either. But the normal Lispers, is there something wrong with their tounges, why not just pronounce the S?

My daughter and I never had allergies in the past, no matter what we ate or did. Now, times have become tougher, we both work in physically demanding jobs, have insufficient sleep, and a monotonous diet. .... AND .... we suffer from any allergy you could possibly think of (verified by tests). Any connection, or coincidence?

Up until 4 months ago my mom would ride her bike daily, lift weights, walk on her treadmill, and do aerobics. Appx 2 hours of intense movement, 5 days a week.

She did this for years. She has a resting heart rate of 44, a total cholesterol of 127, and a non fasting blood sugar level of 92. Translate all of the above into fantastic health for a 20 year old let alone someone 64.

Now the woman who didn't even know what a headache felt like can't get dressed by herself without whimpering, or even hold a fork. She has been diagnosed with a severe form of rheumatiod arthritis. All her joints are so swollen she can hardly move.

But the worst is the dehydration. She drinks about 90oz of water per day and it doesn't stick. She is constantly thirsty, her eyes feel grainy, her skin is dry and flaky, all symptoms of severe dehydration. Does anyone know how to make the water stay in the bodyto be used? What foods to suggest? What web sites or mediactions to research? Please help
