I have had a stuffed nose for 2 years now, but my doctor told me it was enlargened adenoids. I have postnasal drip/stones, and I get throat aches once in a while; I think my tonsils are swollen. Also, my lymph nodes around my jaw area are swollen; they've been like that for a year now. Sometimes, I feel tired in the morning an also in the evenings. It gets better later at night; I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. It's just that I fell tired, and I have dark circles under my eyes. I seriously hope it's not some immune disease/reaction. Does anyone think this might be a life threatening condition? I'm a hypochroniac, BTW.

I don't think it's allergies. I moved around to several places ( one was 500 miles apart), and the respiratory problems are still the same. To the first poster: Why shouldn't I have some worries? I hate being a hypochroniac, and I'll try to get help for it. I'd rather worry and see a doctor instead of dying from cancer cuz I didn't care. I actually care about my health. Why did you bother answering? You should be on another board; I am not a lonely person. What makes you assume that? This could be something serious; people DON'T have enlarged glands for a year! And they really hurt!

It is possible that it is allergies or an infection. If your adenoids are enlarged, that could contribute to sleep apnea which could be why you feel so tired. One thing that can be done is to remove the tonsils and adenoids and to treat underlying infections with antibiotics. Hypochondriac or not, if you are feeling this badly, you should see your physician. I hope you get some relief soon!

2 years is too long to still be concerned about something serious. Many chronic conditions have there roots in allergic reactions. Try an elimination diet: First, cut out everything except fruits and vegetables (very few people are allergic to these). If you feel good after 3 days on this, then you know it is a food allergy. Then, you can slowly add in one food group until you feel ill again. Simply cut out that food from your diet and you'll be healthy again.

Good Luck!

You should see another doctor for a second, or third or even fourth opinion.

Could be as easy as allergies, but could be also something more serious. Mostly sounds to me like allergies. Tyr maybe an ENT or an Allergist (a doc who specializes in Allergies).

And maybe you should also stop worrying too much, if you are a hypochroniac...sometimes things can happen to you if you just imagining it too much...

Go to an ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat) specialist and see what he/she has to say about your adenoids and tonsils. If they are enlarged, you might need to have a tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy. You might just need to be on something to clear up the congestion.

See an ears, nose and throat dr. You may just have a chronic tonsillitis or other sinus infection that is making you feel this way. Don't delay, good luck.
