My boyfriend was raped in March. He just had an HIV test in June, which would be the three months window period and it came back negative, so we have had sexual contact. Now, I understand that he has to get tested at six months and one year! Should I have waited the entire one year window period before having sex again with my boyfriend? Please...I am so scared that I have HIV and don't know it. Please help me figure out what the risks of the three month window period are and what I should do.

You should be using condoms all the time no matter what. I hope things work out for you.

By all means use protection. This is the safest way to be certain.
The test are more accurate these days but it still could take a while for the antigens to show up.

The second thing you should do is boost your immune system, both for you and your boyfriend. This can be done by supplying the body with proper nutrition and glyconutrients being a key player.

Go the the page below and read how nutrition can be used to defend against virus and how the body recovers from a viral attack. You will find it interesteing. Remeber one inportant thing. a virus is a virus is a virus. Yes some have a more severe effect than others but all parasites. If you block theyway they gain access through a cell wall they can't do any harm and replicate. That buys time for the immune system to destoy the virus no matter what they name os that virus is.

have you had any symptoms of HIV? if not try not to stress about it. I know it's extremely hard, and easier said than done, but please try. Don't worry till you have symptoms, then you should go get tested. If you worry too much you can actually convince yourselgf you have it (when you don't) and then cause symptoms to arise fooling you, and scaring you more. Last year I was raped by a guy I knew, and I know this guy was a goody-goody when it came to be a virgin. I know he had sex w/ others and I was passed out then, so I dont know if he used a condom or not. it scared me to death first of pregnancy, then of std's. I haven't had symptoms yet and I do not think Ihave anything. and you probably don't either. and did you use a condom w/ your b/f? if you did once again don't worry. but I'd say go get tested to know for sure. good luck for you.

Severe symptoms of HIV infection and AIDS may not appear for 10 years. And for years leading up to that, a person may not have symptoms of AIDS. The amount of time it takes for symptoms of AIDS to appear varies from person to person. Some people may feel and look healthy for years while they are infected with HIV. It is still possible to infect others with HIV, even if the person with the virus has absolutely no symptoms. You cannot tell simply by looking at someone whether he or she is infected.

The time period for the test to be postitive can be years. If you are worried, I suggest using condoms. This would be the safest method for you.

You've already had sex with him, so if he does have it... then so do you. You should wear protection. and think about this... if you plan on marrying this guy... Why does it matter if you get it?
