The cause of the renal stones is not fully understood but in majority of the cases multiple factors are involved. the important factors which influence the formation and growth of renal stones
are:
a) Hyper excretion of relatively insoluble urinary constituents,: 1.Oxalate: - a Major component .Cabbage, rhubarb spinach , tomatoes, black tea and cocoa contains large amounts of oxalate. Ingestion of large amounts of ascorbic acid and orange juice also increases the urinary oxalate excretion. pyridoxine deficiency and small bowl disease also contribute.
2.Calcium: from food milk and cheese. primary hyper parathyroid ism , hypervitaminosis D, renal tubular acidosis, - some of the factors.
3.uric acid as in patients suffering from gout when under treatment. severe psoriasis and patients with ileostomy.
4. Cystine - small percent ; mostly hereditary - an inborn error of metabolism
5 Drug induced - when persons use magnesium trisilicate for the peptic ulcer the stone is developed..
predisposing factors are : infection, stasis of urine, deficiency; water lack with dehydration and concentration of urine.

There are several factors that are associated with an increased risk of developing kidney stones.
Kidney stones are caused by build-up of minerals in your kidney (calcium, oxalate, or phosphate). Some things that can lead to kidney stones are:
1. Having a disease called Gout.
2. Having high calcium levels in your urine (hypercalciuria).
3. People with bowel disease.
4. Some medications (diruetics, calcium antacids)
5. White males between the age of 40-70 are more at risk.
6. Chronic dehydration

Kidney stones are solid accumulations of material that form in the tubal system of the kidney. Kidney stones cause problems when they block the flow of urine through or out of the kidney. When the stones move along the ureter, they cause severe pain.
they are also formed from not drinking enough water
I've had eight when i was 8 or 9 to 11 or 12
i was taking medicine and my dad did not think that it was helping so he took me off and I've had no problems since i was 12

habitual use of some street drugs,"speed", "meth",etc. can contribute to the cause as well. this is true primarily due to the fact that these drugs cause chronic dehydration. as well as the fact that the kidneys filter all that "ca-ca" !!!
