It's not 100% that the child will get diabetes.
our daughter is diabetic and no one in the family is.
It CAN be genetic but is not a guarantee- AND they could become diabetic at anytime- when they are first born, or not until they are in their 20's- or anytime inbetween.

There is a possibility you can get it if a parent has or had it. It seems likely it is because of learned eating habits. Your eating habits you learn in your childhood, you carry with you for life and are VERY HARD TO CHANGE.

DOCTORS SAY THAT IT IS 70% SURE TO HAVE DIABETES FOR A CHILD IF HIS/HER FATHER IS DIABETIC. MY GRAND FATHER IS DIABETIC, THEN MY DAD IS DIABETIC TOO AND I AM SURE TO BE DIABETIC TOO... =(
