I have a very tiny hole in my back tooth on the right side will they be able to do a filling or is it big enough where they are going to have to do a root canal? I probably have a few cavities but none are noticeable except one right now. Just trying to figure how much it may cost.

I recently went to the dentist because my lower right wisdom tooth was giving me troubles. Apon a full mouth X-Ray it was prompted that I would need all four wisdom theeth removed. I agreed to do only the tooth that was in pain for now. Got schedule's for the next day, but then they moved me to friday.

I go in on friday and the doctor gives me 3 shots of Novocaine and proceeds to try to take out my tooth. Now mind you when I went in for this the tooth was hardly hurting in the first place, only hurt when I ate.

After about 45 mins, plyers and various other tools the doctor gave up and said he couldn't get it and must referred me out to someone else then left the room. The nurse came back said I was free to go, gave me a script for Lortab and two cards for "surgical orthidontist in the area". Now I'm not stupid and I know as soon as the numb-sauce wore off my mouth was hurting 30x worse then before (Its wiggling must be coming soon-dentist)

meds do jack crap for it, is it malpractice

I have been whitening my teeth with a proper kit from the dentist for about 2mths. I don't think that my teeth are as white as i'd like, although people tell me if they were too white they'd look false. On wed i am supposed to be going to have 4 crowns down on my front lower teeth (at a special clinic not my normal dentist). Its costing £2000 so i want it to be perfect. If I don't go on wednesday the next available appointment is not til 27th June! I am starting a new job in 2 weeks and wanted it all done and out of the way but I don't want to pay £2000 if i'm not 100% happy, but i also don't want to wait. The receptionist was really rude and said i have to decide by lunchtime today. Its distressing enough knowing i have to have it done without being put under time pressure.

Please help!!!
What would you do??
I'm 21 in case that helps. I've been going through trauma with these teeth since i was 13 and had to go to guys hospital every month for a year to have them fixed initially!

My friend has had this problem for years. The teeth are growing outwards and have no room to move and are jammed against the jaw. The dentist won't remove them as they are not infected but she is in pain now and again as they move.

Should she have them removed? Anyone have any experiences with impacted wisdom teeth?

On the 4th April I had a tooth out (not one of the front ones but a back biting ones) - it has been extremely painful and swollen for the last week - my cheek and jaw bone were particularly sore as well as the front and back of my gum the whole left side of my mouth. Over the last week it has become less painful, and is slowly getting better - However, once a little of the swelling inside my mouth has gone down I have noticed a something sharp and white what looks like a small piece of tooth or bone coming through the gum above the area the tooth was taken out of (not in the socket - above on the gum). This area is still very sore and the gum around the white thing is very red and inflamed. I know that I should do back to the dentist if I am worried, and I will if it hasn't cleared up in the next few days - but does anyone have any idea what it could be? is this normal after a tooth extraction?

I have ear piercings from when I was a baby and the holes will not close at this point. My aunt pierced them and the dumb b**** did them unevenly - so I feel like I am scarred for life. I am a little insecure about it and I can't wear earrings because it makes the unevenness quite obvious. Would it be considered cosmetic surgery to get the holes closed? How do I go about this? Would my HMO cover the costs? Please help me!

I just bought a "Natural Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste with baking soda & essential oil of ginger without fluoride.
I was wondering if it is good for my teeth (regular teeth)
or would you recomend a normal toothpaste?
(It doesn't have the Canadian Dental Association on it)

I feel horrible.I moved to Texas, and had sooo much trouble trying to get my dental insurance card so that I could go to a dentist there. I am back home now temporarily, and i really need to go. I brush everyday and night and I floss, but I have had a cavity that has now caused my tooth to break. Sometimes it really hurts bad. I have always had pretty teeth, and this one tooth (which is a back tooth) will need a cap.Is it possible to request a porcelain cap to match the rest of my teeth? Or will it have to be pulled?

its HORRIBLE. I am just afraid of what my dentist will say and think since it has been so long.

Serious advice would be nice...none of those ugly immature comments please?

Thanks

I just had gum surgery last weekend at my dentist's office to repair a "gummy smile". He used a laser to cut away some of my gums. He also said he was going to cut away some bone, but I'm not sure if he did that or not because no drills or anything like that was used. I forgot to ask him this question, so I was wondering how long do the results from this surgery last? Will my gums grow back? Because this was a very expensive surgery! Thanks!
