800 mg of ibuprofen taken with food or milk, no more than twice a day, and apply orajel with a qtip as needed. Also be sure to continue brushing and flossing, and use Listerine or the equivalant so it doesn't get infected.

Oil of Cloves, Anbusol or mix a good amount of salt into a glass of warm water and swish it around the sore tooth. I don't know why, but it seems to help with pain. Also, take 2 Advil (ibroprofen) every 4 to 6 hours until you go see the dentist.

Dont drink anything cold or really hot and take a pain releaver and try to keep your mind off the pain

u didn't remeber your pain when u were getting the appointment..... is that all yahoo answer users are doctor???? how much nonsence answers about medicine they give all the time... why dont u call your dentist & ask him to treat u properly.

You could also try something like Orajel (there are generics of this in most drugstores) to see if that helps too.

Put a heating pad (turned on low) on your jaw. It helps some.
