I have been whitening my teeth with a proper kit from the dentist for about 2mths. I don't think that my teeth are as white as i'd like, although people tell me if they were too white they'd look false. On wed i am supposed to be going to have 4 crowns down on my front lower teeth (at a special clinic not my normal dentist). Its costing £2000 so i want it to be perfect. If I don't go on wednesday the next available appointment is not til 27th June! I am starting a new job in 2 weeks and wanted it all done and out of the way but I don't want to pay £2000 if i'm not 100% happy, but i also don't want to wait. The receptionist was really rude and said i have to decide by lunchtime today. Its distressing enough knowing i have to have it done without being put under time pressure.

Please help!!!
What would you do??
I'm 21 in case that helps. I've been going through trauma with these teeth since i was 13 and had to go to guys hospital every month for a year to have them fixed initially!

I'd suggest you relax and have a good thought about the proper perspective of things. First of all, the bottom front teeth are rarely that visible, even when you smile- unless you grin oddly. So if they do happen to be a shade or so different from the other teeth, nobody is going to notice. If you have been using the kit for two months now, chances are the other teeth are about as white as they are going to get. The crowns will be matched to the teeth in your mouth, a good overall match to the surrounding teeth. Once they are in, they will all get exposed to the same staining items, and presumably the same treatments of bleaching and toothpaste, etc. So they will tend to be the same shade most all the time afterwards. You are stressing over a new job and new teeth- and you need to relax. Go with the appointment, then it's done and no longer hanging over your head. You will start the new job with a dazzling new smile, and I promise nobody is going to notice the shade of them. I happen to have crowns on the upper and lower front teeth myself. They are a slight shade different- and the only people who've ever noticed are me and the dentist. My own mother and husband can't tell, and neither has anyone else. And I've asked plenty, to be sure. So chill, and go get the new teeth.

Get in touch with the office manager of this specialty clinic and let her know about what the receptionist said and the situation that you are dealing with right now. She may be able to give you some additional ideas.

you should consult another dentist...
ask your friends who they have had good experiences with
and don´t pay a cent until you have what you have been promised for
you require all on paper, the procedures to be done and their cost etc fr the dentist
