If I were you, I would discontinue using this inexpensive product. The crux of your pain is probably due to the acidic bleaching agent in the gel that is being absorbed through your already-irritated gums. Too, check the ingredients on the tube of gel for carbonide peroxide. Professional strength whitening gel formulated with 16% carbamide peroxide is the most widely used and most desirable active ingredient in effective dental bleaches. Instead of worrying about the brightness of your teeth, I think that you need a professional evaluation of your gums. They should not be bleeding or receding.

well 1st of all...my cousin used to brush her teeth really hard also. she then had receding gum lines. THEN she had to get from the roof of her mouth (tissue) GRAPHED to her gums by her teeth. if u have a tounge piercing, then once u have this done, u CANNOT have a piercing ANYMORE. 2nd of all.......if it is hurting u, u could have cavities. they tell u on the package, if u have cavitie/s u SHOULD NOT use the product. this is because it will HURT LIKE NO OTHER. if it hurts dont use it ANYMORE. AND 3rd...... u get what u pay for. meaning, since this was only like probably less than 10 $, then its most likely NOT gunna work. its just gunna be more painful than anything else. God Bless♥

ps.
use a "soft" bristle toothbrush. it will have it on the package of the toothbrush that u buy @ the store. DONT BRUSH HARD! it will just make matters worse. use some listerine whitening "pre rinse" mouth wash. its in a White bottle, u can also get it in different sizes. it whitend my teeth. but im not sure how yellow your's are, but it WILL help a little. Hope this helped!!!! :D

yes it does matter, and you're probably not using it properly, it shouldn't burn your gums, you're probably using too much of the gel, and it will make your teeth sensitive for a few days. You need to read the directions and maybe get the crest strips instead.

If it hurts to use it, I'd stop until you call a dentist. Ask if it's safe to use if it hurts when doing it.
Be careful with that stuff, if it's hurting!
Good luck
