I'm trying to determine whether I should get a tonsilectomy. I'm in my twenties and am considering it because I have large tonsils and occasionally have trouble breathing in my sleep (not certain whether the two are linked or not). What are some drawbacks to not having tonsils and risks of the operation?

I went to the dentist this afternoon to have an old silver filling taken out and replaced with the composite one. I noticed my tongue was sore on that side & I just looked in the mirror & I saw like little silver metal pieces lodged in my tongue (cut) and it's all red but not really bad but I'm afraid it'll get worse & will the pieces come out on their own? Anyone else had this?

I've decided to give up drinking pop because I have been getting a lot of cavities all of a sudden. I know it doesn't have sugar in it but it does have two kinds of acids in it. Is Crystal Light bad for your teeth?

I have had two teeh pulled recently. I may need to have a third out. I was thinking about getting a partial denture to fill in the space. Can't afford $3,000 per implant at this time and that doesn't include the crown. Any information on partials will be helpful.

Multi-part question:

1. I'm sitting in the dentist office today and my Doc is this gorgeous Asian female with nice supple breasts, for over an hour she rested them right on my forehead and cheeks and my question is, Do they know they are doing that and can't help it due to their close encounter job? Or do they do that to tease me? Either way, I want to send a thanks to all the hot female dentists out there. I appreciate what you do for me.

I have been wearing clear braces (like a really thin gumshield) for the past 6 months and every two weeks I get a new one fitted, which is gradually moving the teeth to their new positions. When the new one is fitted it is pretty tight and can be painful. The most recent one was extremely painful and after a few days I had an abcess above one of my front teeth. I went back to the dentist (a stand-in, my regular dentist was away) who told me something had cut off the blood supply to my tooth and it was dead. She would not confirm if it was caused by the brace. I am now faced with painful and expensive root canal work on the dead tooth and I am trying to establish who - if anyone - might be responsible for the tooth's untimely demise.
